Trump and Musks funeral will be first time we will see clapping and cheering with zero tears. Melania might be cheering as well.

Yeah, Trump talked tough then sent his lemmings to go appease Ford. Then they turned around and boasted about how tough they are.

Did you see Vance's cousin Nate who supposedly fought in Ukraine on CNN, and some other platforms. He was pretty critical of the Trump administration for how they've handled this.

This is something in the Independent on this, where he fought for 3 years from the beginning until January. Makes sense to leave the front lines given who he is, and what could happen if he did get captured.

Is there evidence he isn't being truthful about his service in Ukraine?

I don't think so. If he's on CNN and the Independent is writing about it, I would hope that they did their due dilligence.

But in todays world..an uneducated idiot like me...has to be careful about anything I say because if I say he did...people will jump on me for not correctly fact checking it.

Way to late in the game to do that. It's pretty big stretch to say they would be able to disable the aircraft, it would be pretty nefarious to sneak a 'kill switch' through the certification process.

The bigger threat would be killing any compatible support systems that feed information to the aircraft, which wouldn't necessarily brick it but it would have to operate in somewhat of a vacuum. One of the main reasons we picked this aircraft was to be able to operate in a shared environment with our allies and that could be compromised from the outside.

Probably worse, they could cut off logistics support for the aircraft, which would handcuff us in no time.

Melania at his funeral: “I thought he’d have died 20 years ago. Good things come to she who waits. Is that Trudeau guy still single?”

Props to Trump for sticking the knife in to make Schumer look even worse.

That makes it already obsolete in this climate and it hasn't even left the showroom floor. Even if it doesn't have that kill switch I've read about recently, it also needs Pentagon mainframe approval to sortie, no matter what country it flies for. Another red flag.

I wonder if France and the UK are going to make the new 5th gen Eurofighter and Typhoon replacement a very viable option for Canada to switch to in lieu of the F35. Because at this point, might as well just throw that fighter jet budget out the door regardless. Also fits with Canada's constant procurement blunders.

I am pretty convinced Trump wants the Dems to vote against it. Why post such a baiting message before the vote if he is really hoping for it to pass?

Trump's probably good with both outcomes though. He wins and the country loses either way.

That's why I put kill switch in quotes. It's not a true kill switch in the conventional sense. They have the power to deny future software upgrades though that would render the jet less effective. If the U.S. was a reliable and loyal ally, it wouldn't be a big deal, but with Trump in power, it's a risk. It's one more thing that they can hold over your head to push you around.

Because he enjoys humiliating people. Schumer made a deal with him and instead of just letting it be, he's making him look worse to the Dems. It's repeatedly been part of his MO.

Someone would have to dig it up, but part of the Gripen proposal was to have all upgrades and operations abilities to be native to Canada. The more things play out, I'm more and more in favor of strengthening ties with the Arctic powers, in the Scandanavian, Baltic, UK regions. I'd also be willing to add South Korea and Japan to that, and effectively create a economic/military/political union umbrellaing the US.

If it's just about humiliating him, send it after the vote. Sending it before the vote, just puts more pressure on him to not vote for it.

But Schumer is a coward lol. Thinking he has any backbone whatsoever is very naive. Polling shows the GOP will get most of the blame for a shutdown, and he still is folding like a cheap tent.

There's a new joint strike fighter replacing the typhoon and rafale coming in 2032 I believe. Canada might be better served getting in on that. And that's what Portugal is signing up for after dumping the F35. The NGF it's called.
