Yeah, thats the gist I got out of it as well. There were irregularities in her story and her paperwork but none of that justifies being allowed into the country just to toss her in some ICE blacksite or whatever.

We can make America great again! Just need an injection of some more moderate, level headed whites.

There seem to be a few schools of thought on this.
First is that they don't want it, and they don't think Trump really does either - this is bluster to "win" on the tariff fight and that's all.
Second school of thought is that they do want it, but they assume that it won't be like this - no one in Canada will get to vote, for example, and it'll essentially be Puerto Rico.
Third school of thought is, actually, fine: new California, a whole bunch of new Democratic votes. But the combined country (especially once we get Greenland too!) will be so obscenely strong, particularly once all of the natural resources north of the 49th are exploited, that it doesn't matter who's president of the new uberstate because everyone will have a pool of money to swim in like Scrooge McDuck. And once that happens everyone will vote Republican anyway because they'll all agree they're now living in a Utopia and Trump was the one who delivered it.

That theory is so incredibly off putting that it is unpleasant to even entertain as a motivation but I'm sure there are plenty of "14 words" people who see that as a good reason for the whole endeavour.

Imagine how disappointed they would be to find out that visible minorities now make up more than 30% of the population of Canada (higher in major cities) with a trajectory that puts them on pace to be 50% in the next 30-40 years.

Look no one ever accused the KKK of having rationally thought through their whole pro-Aryan world view, okay?

Not only that, once they find out about the vastly different approach to First Nations relations and the entire province of Quebec...

Trump White House has asked U.S. military to develop options for the Panama Canal, officials say
https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/nat...fic-rcna195994
Quote:
WASHINGTON — The White House has directed the U.S. military to draw up options for increasing the American troop presence in Panama to achieve President Trump’s goal of “reclaiming” the Panama Canal, according to two U.S. officials familiar with the planning.
During a joint address to Congress last week, Trump said, "to further enhance our national security, my administration will be reclaiming the Panama Canal.” Since then, administration officials have not said what "reclaiming" means.
U.S. Southern Command is developing potential plans that vary from partnering more closely with Panamanian security forces to the less likely option of U.S. troops seizing the Panama Canal by force, the officials said. Whether military force is used, the officials added, depends on how much Panamanian security forces agree to partner with the U.S.

I think there might be a deal I am willing to accept to become a part of the US: Absolute statehood, no territory ####, two senators, electoral college votes etc... in exchange for Trump and his entire family, and Elon, being hung, drawn, and quartered. Still feels like we lose the trade, but I can probably live with it.

I'm kind enjoying how hard a time he's having grappling with reality. Because the more he remains in this haze of delusion/dementia the more he's going to chip away at his support base.
I think he literally believes he can wave his hand and a great market will suddenly appear. Like the wall street journal is pulling the wool over his eyes or something.
Also still doesn't understand that American companies are being tariffed which is hurting the US economy, not flooding it with dollars.
Probably hasn't visited the egg section of a grocery store in years.
Also really, did he expect there to be positive effects overnight? Like factories and refineries magically sprung up from the ground, staffed and fully functional?
Another day in the idiocracy.

At this point I'm going to celebrate every time he golfs now. The more time he's wasting on the golf course on the taxpayers' dime, the less damage he's theoretically doing by actually working. I hope he takes an insanely corrupt amount of vacation time, I'm actually cheering for it at this point.
