I don't see how annexing Canada plays out well. You're annexing a whole lot of LW voters who are NEVER going to vote Republican. As if he's just going to issue 40 million US Passports to us, then create a new state with congress/senate seats etc full of voters that vote against him.
IMO he intends to treat us like Palestine. No voting rights, no worker rights, no mobility rights, just resource exploitation. Thanks for all your "stuff" Canada, too bad so sad.

We would basically just be a territory, like Puerto Rico or Guam.

There's no scenario where we'd be allowed to have the equivalent of California's electoral college votes/congresspeople, and two senators. He just says 51st State cause he's one of the dumbest ####ers to ever live, but he means territory with no rights and and no ability to stop them pillaging every resource they can.

Or just straight up occupied with a puppet government.
Even being a territory would make all Canadians American citizens free to move south of the border to take their jerbs.

40M pissed off people (and majority non-Republican supporters) with no rights, no voting ability, and an axe to grind against a country that immediately lowered their quality of life...
...the long-lasting guerrilla warfare that would likely happen is something the US should be taking seriously within this reality.

I would 100% be an insurgent.
I wonder if the large populations of Canadians of middle-eastern/Afghani descent who have experienced American invasion before would be especially prickly rebels.

Worth remembering too it's not like America is united. There would almost certainly be lots of Americans waging an insurgency against Trump and Co if we get that far.

He could melt down the ones he "sold" in Canada last week to get millions in government subsidies to make more.

Not to mention First Nations and Native Americans as well. Something tells me they wouldn't be siding with MAGA imperialists.

Imagine we get a Tecumseh 2.0 from among the Mohawks or Blackfoot warriors who sends the Americans back home. Again.

Wouldn't be particularly hard to get a bunch of weapons and the materials to make IEDs, chemical weapons, etc. And you can't get to Trump or Musk given their security apparatuses, but Leavitt? Graham? Don Jr.? Fox News personalities? GOP congress members? Average joes who are vocal MAGA fanatics? All easy to get to to varying degrees... Trump himself of course doesn't care about these people, but "you could be dead at any moment if you continue to support this guy" is a fairly compelling message.

Agreed. I think the White Trash House has noticed how much of a reaction their comments are creating in Canada, and are getting a kick out of it. Bullies love to target people that get really upset over their antics; it amuses them.
I'm not saying ignore their dangerous messaging, but we need to tune them out a bit and not give them the satisfaction, it just makes it keep happening. They're just running their mouths as usual.

Well it’ll be interesting to see this play out because my bet is insanely large protests in America are not too far around the corner.
The US is about to experience the FO part of FAFO and it’s going to be in their bank accounts.
Gonna be real interesting to see what UK / Europe do here because the fence sitting is NOT going to work. Pretty obvious.
