Doubtful. I bet Conroy didn't want to offer any roster players. He's said as much.
 |
Sharangovich isn't a center. Frost could have been an interesting swap from the Flames perspective but he also doesn't have a contract past this season and Buffalo has trouble retaining guys.

Seems like you are getting mad about a made up trade that Buffalo wouldn't want. I don't think Conroy says no to any trade with Sharangovich as a base

I don't expect he will bomb but there's just something about the Senators where the whole is never the sum of the parts.

Can't be trading for player just because they are big.

Zary is th ebetter player.

Wow, Brady was real shook by Norris being traded. Clearly, those 2 guys are super tight.

I'm not mad? Where did I say I was mad. Why are you mad?

I'm speculating because we've been rumored to be around Cozens for along time as we desperately need a young RS center and this feels like an easily beatable offer as it's a terrible deal for the Sabres.

Maybe. Maybe not. He has publicly said he doesn't want to move roster players.

You seem pretty convinced that Sharangovich has the same value as Norris which I don't think is the case and Frost has no reason to sign a long term deal with Buffalo.

It would have had to be Zary going the other way. That is fine if you would have made that trade but Sharangovich or Frost aren't the same as Norris.

Conroy also already moved two roster players in Kuzmenko and Pelletier

Zary hasn't scored 20 goals and mid 50 points yet.

But that's what I see him being.

Flames have a lot of wing prospects and a lack of centre ice prospects, when you have a chance to get a top 6 centre, you can't be falling in love with your complimentary wingers.

			Aww, wtf?
 Was busy and missed this.

Heard BUF wanted Zary. I know we love the kid (I do too), but his totals are still modest, and right now Cozens is a better NHLer. He would be an upgrade, albeit a few years older.

I guess you have to believe Zary is going to pan out as that caliber of player. He might, but it's hard to say for sure. I do think the knee injury took him off that mojo he had going prior to it.

It isn't a huge upgrade by any means, but Cozens is an established center. I'd like to see us focus on developing Zary down the middle as well. As a winger, he's less valuable.

Depends if you think Cozens is a top six center. He isn't one on Buffalo

Norris is clearly the better player, but not by a HUGE margin.

Norris has tons of injury history though and is at a much higher cap hit.

Then to add in, Sabres had to throw in a 2nd.

I would rather have Sharky + 2nd over Norris

Just listened to Ottawa TSN Radio and they were discussing the trade. They feel like Norris has the higher upside pending his ability to stay healthy. I would say that is almost certainly true. Buffalo got the best player but he may not be able to stay healthy.

Just glad Cozen got moved. Hopefully this puts an end to the trade discussions on him.

Cozen's best season is better than Norris'. And Norris' career high GP is 66. He's topped 60 once. Hugh health risk there.
