wow Buffalo is adding a pick? Great play by the Sens.

Feels like we could of beat this?
Sabres must really like Norris or JBD specifically

Frost and Sharky are similar age/production range as Norris.

and I wouldn't think that JDB holds that much value..
Pachal would be our closest equivalent? And I would take Pachal over JBD

I'd rather have Cozens than Norris, why they are giving up picks is crazy IMO.
Why?

If Buffalo's adding a pick I wonder if it's because Ottawa retained on Norris? Part of the appeal to move Cozens was to save some $

Makes sense, Buffalo wanted Zary from Calgary and wouldn't budge on that ask apparently.

If Norris can stay healthy he is a very good centre.

I am very happy for Cozens to get out of that hell hole. Buffalo was not a good place for him.

The point of getting Cozens for the Flames would be to add to the core of Zary, Coronato and Wolf, not swap deck chairs. I'm glad the Flames wouldn't move Zary for Cozens. But I still was hoping Cozens was coming to the Flames.

Because the Flames need to add to the logjam of 2nd and 3rd liners.

This trade just tells you what the league thinks of Cozen.

And similar production over the last two seasons which have been down years for Cozens:

Cozens: 0.56/GP
Norris: 0.61 P/GP

Norris has also been less productive at 5v5 (0.26 p/gp at 5v5) compared to Cozens (0.36 p/gp)

I don't think it's an upgrade for Buffalo personally and I actually like Norris and was one of the few that would have taken him as a cap dump on the Flames in the offseason.

If Zary was Buffalo's hill to die on then I am thrilled that we didn't trade for Cozens

It seems that both Norris, and JBD are not practicing right now. Also looked like OTT had a team meeting, informing the players of a trade.

3 shoulder surgeries according to Daily Faceoff. Massive risk for the Sabres

Sounds like it's done as per SN's Live Coverage

Wild in division trade.

that's a big if. He hasn't had a full season since entering the NHL and hasn't he had 3 shoulder surgeries already?

Feels like a huge risk for the sabres and one we could of easily matched.

Makes me think Conroy wasn't willing to move a Sharky or Frost.

Thos seem like pretty minor differences - Norris is having a much better year than Cozens and plays a better two way game. Norris has more goals than all but two Flames. Norris's shoulder is a concern though.

I bet Cozens was asking out, so that by itself is an upgrade.

The Sabres are a mess of an organization. I wouldn't assume anything based on what that team does.

The TSN panel was calling them out earlier for signing guys (Zucker and Greenway) rather than trading them. It's a bold strategy to keep the same team when they're dead last in the East yet again.
