Alleged Sexual Assault - 2014-15 Mississauga Steelheads (OHL)

New: Peel Regional Police have confirmed its special victims unit is investigating an alleged sexual assault involving eight former Ontario Hockey League players with the Mississauga Steelheads in 2014. In October, CTV News reported the allegations of a woman we are identifying, with her permission, as Anne Marie, her middle name. Anne Marie, now 32, said her alleged assault took place in a player billet home in November of 2014.

The story says she was reluctant because some participants were only 16 and seemed to be pressured. There were only 4 16 year olds on the team. Day, Bastien, Macleod and Dickerson.
She was dating a 19 year old who was the lead instigator it seems.

Also, VERY valid that the news and charges from the WJC team brought this back and gave hope that something would actually be done /someone would listen
Positive developments for those who suffered sexual abuse to empower them to come forward.

So the thought is that McLeod is maybe coerced into commiting gang rape at 16 and then it's allegedly his turn to lead a gang rape by age 19? The cycle of hockey rape hazing. Gross.

Important to note that McLeod actually hasn't been accused (That we know of yet). At this point, the only thing we know is that he was on the team. This isn't to defend him or whatever acts may have been commited, but at this point, he hasn't been publicly named here and everything is still alleged.
But either way its beyond gross and reprehensible.

We know a little more - he was one of four 16 year olds on the team and the victim said "some" of the participants were only 16 (implying more than one). So just statistically there's a 50% chance he's one of them.

Oh, I agree there's a lot of things pointing to him being involved. Just I think we need to be careful about saying it's definitive at this point.

Step two: Immediately try to find out the identity of said minor(s)
Step three: Make sure everyone knows the identity of said minor(s)

To clarify, the reluctance mentioned here was towards phoning the police. I thought this was saying she was reluctant to participate, but after reading the story, it's pretty clear she wanted no part of anything beyond the initial bit with just her boyfriend.
Horrible incident for sure.
