It was insane to hear Trump last night say how they're making things affordable again, and all the smug lemming conservatives around him were cheering and clapping. Things are skyrocketing in price since he took office, and if one does an iota of research for five seconds, they'll see this is the case.
The lies last night were absolutely off the charts and unhinged; and he'll have no repercussions for doing so, and his uneducated/uninformed base will believe everything he says. The tariffs are about to make things even worse.
Wish some Dem would have yelled out '$8 for a pack of eggs Donald now - you totally broke your promise".

The checks and balances are flaccid and ineffective. America, you have the guns. You've waited decades for this moment. You've argued endlessly as to the importance of the second amendment, and you won that battle handily. Now do something about it.

I realized quickly after the inauguration “I want cheap eggs” was actually just code for “I want to be hateful again to groups I don’t like”. MAGA will be poorer and lose more benefits/freedoms if it means they can ‘oWn tHe LiBs’.
Both Democrats and Republicans have lost their ways, it doesn’t even feel like the same country I moved to just ten years ago. I don’t think either party would recognize themselves.

Yesterday Fox was trumpeting this as a positive since his approval rating is apparently higher than it was in his first term.

This tweet from nearly five years ago is still just as relevant today (although there is now some ambiguity because it could also be a reference to Elon):

I'm not convinced that it was written by Trump, though. It's not like most of his other posts, and he decided not to even call him Governor. And, of course, no all-caps, nothing to say that he is the greatest, and this is unlike anything we've ever seen? No way he wrote that.

And Biden had whole television empires stoking the hatred of him!

Why would Trump care about approval ratings since he’s never leaving office?
Like, Americans know that right? That he’s never leaving office. Because he isn’t.

who's the heir apparent? It's a cult of personality. Neither his sons nor JD Vance have any personality.
maybe I'm naive, but there's still a tiny sliver of hope in me that at least a part of the cult snaps out of their fever dream when that ####ing ####### finally bites the dust.

People should brush up on Project 2025.
It’s what’s coming to America (or already has). The Republicans are no longer interested in democracy. Like guys, they’re doing nazi salutes. The time for hopes and dreams that people will come to their senses is over. Only thing that matters now are actions.
Corollary. Sentiments from Canadian Americans on this site. Gee whiz wish things weren’t this way, wish people weren’t MAGA. Okay. What are you doing about it, do you talk to them? Try to approach it from a common ground perspective to try and get them to see your side (and therefore ground themselves in SOME kind of reasonableness)? Shouldn’t you talk to people and let them know the dangers of losing your democracy? Time to stop side stepping conversations and ho humming away your country.
