Too much gravel on the roads.

My neighbour has decided otherwise. At least he's finally gone for a bit instead of revving the engine for an hour in his garage every night this week.

Well, I hope they fall and break their legs so this will be the last day they're out and I can have peace and quiet over the summer.

Have you memorialised the account?

I don’t typically wish harm on people. But I make an exception for the obnoxious morons who ride loud bikes and treat the roads like their playground.

A couple years ago my wife and I were stopped at the lights at Anderson and 14th when we heard a loud whining behind us. A dude on a crotch-rocket wove in and out of traffic, then took the turn-off to 14th street without slowing down. He lost control, dropped the bike, and rag-dolled onto the meridian.

My wife got out of the car to see if he was alright and wait for the ambulance. Meanwhile, as a line of cars taking the 14th street turnoff slowly drove past the broken dude laying on the meridian, several of them rolled down their windows and gave him the finger or yelled at him.

Obnoxious motorcycle riders: You are hated.

Even those of us who sensibly ride quiet bikes hate them.

What is that? If it’s like trying to get an estate probated then f that.

Just email them and say dead?

My buddy’s wife killed herself a few years ago, but her LinkedIn saying her “open for work” anniversary comes up every year…..and people actually congratulate it. Brutal.

It would be interesting to see the per capita death rate of motorcycle enthusiast in Calgary compared to let’s say San Francisco. They have lane splitting there and it works flawlessly. Here it seems like cars want to try and kill motorcyclists because they beat them to the light. Not to mention the ####ty roads, gravel, and everything else they have to contend with.

You can’t be serious. Car drivers want to kill motorcyclists because they beat them to a light? I’ll assume you’re being hyperbolic.

There's an option where you can report an account for "Something else" and click "Memorialize account" and provide Facebook with some evidence of passing -- an online obituary, for example -- and they'll put it into a memorialized status where it is basically left as a tombstone of sorts. People can leave messages and view whatever pictures and things they had posted if they fit that audience, but it limits what the account can do.

It's intended for the person's family to use, but anyone technically can do it.

Please bear in mind that memorialisation is a big decision. If you're not a family member or close friend of the person who has passed away, we recommend contacting the person's family before requesting memorialisation.

Flawlessly? 20% of accidents are caused by lane splitting in California. Which is the ONLY state dumb enough to have it not being illegal, and even then is only supposed to occur at 30mph or less.

I'm sure much of that is drivers being totally unaware that motorcycles have unique laws and are allowed to drive down the f-cking highway lines for some insane reason.

Quote:
Thus, lane splitting itself does not increase motorcycle accidents in California when done correctly. However, the majority of bikers in California do not follow the proper precautions and expert guidance on how to safely practice lane splitting, resulting in the nearly 20% of motorcycle accidents that are attributed to the behavior.

Honestly though (and I'm assuming you are a motorcyclist) we probably agree 100% that MOST people shouldn't be driving most of the time. Because they're angry, drunk, tired, distracted, or just learned to operate a car decades ago and are somehow "good to go" until they drop dead.

The only difference being - you're riding an engine with 2 wheels, and I'm surrounded by airbags and anti-lock brakes. So when some donkey goofs up in front of me it's a fender bender I walk away from.

As for you... well... with all honesty... it's just a question of time.

But only after it warms up for three hours in the driveway.
