Under contract for another year at $2 million. Too much for a 7th defenceman.

Another victim of the move. Was much better in AZ.

Think both Durzi and Marino are due back soon (if they haven't come back already), and he's behind them, Kesselring, Sergachev, Cole, Maatta, and maybe DeSimone, now.

It's not a bad point but they're on track to finish with roughly as many points in Utah this year as they did in AZ last year. He was better than established guys like Dumba, Stecher, etc. He'd still have a spot in Utah if they hadn't traded for Maatta when Durzi went down.

There was a James Neal goal vs the Avs setup but a massive hit by Valimaki at the blue line that created a turnover. Juuso was 19 or 20 at that time and you had visions of a top four defenseman who could be a foundation piece for 10-12 years.
What a pipe dream

Maybe worth a claim if we drop Miromanov or Hanley, overall it won’t move the needle much unless they believe he can regain form.

I would guess someone will claim him. Only 26 and a former mid 1st round pick, probably worth a gamble.
Hope its not us

He was good enough for a team that finished 15 points out of the playoffs. He's not good enough for a team that's fighting for a playoff spot.
Last season, he was 4th on the team among d-men for total ice time per game and 2nd for PP ice time per game. This season, he's 7th on the team among d-men for total ice time per game and 5th for PP ice time per game.

He was good as the Yotes 4/5 dman for the last two seasons and it looked like his career was legitimately salvaged.
This year has been a very different story with him being scratched for large portions of the season. It'd be interesting to know if his play has legitimately taken a step back or if it's a role thing.
Durzi and Kesselring provide more offensive than he does, and Maata and Cole are more solid defensively than he is. Given that, I understand why he got bumped outside of Utah's Top5, but surely, he must be better than DeSimone and Bortuzzo...
