Hanifin has always had questionable hockey IQ without the puck. I wasn’t all that bothered when his camp decided to move on from Calgary.

I only watched condensed versions all the games, with the exception of the final game yesterday. The drama outside of the game is what primarily drew me to it.

It's not that the quality isn't good. I was really impressed by how into it the players were. I just have trouble getting invested in mini-tournaments like this. I am probably in the minority, but I have been so bored the past couple of weeks without the Flames and am looking forward more to the game on Sunday than I did any of the games in the Four Nations.

9.3 million viewers for the game in America, most watched NHL-related event since the 1970's.

Connor McDavid's calling it a little tournament, despite all the hype towards the ends sums up my feelings. This was fun and meant a lot due to the politics in the head but the Olympics is the big one.

You’re acting like the only way someone could disagree with you is if they’re stupid, disloyal, or a political cultist. That’s a pretty lazy way to look at the world

Hanifin is probably the best skating dman they had on their roster.

Anyway, to get back on topic…. Yeah, this was a nice little warm-up, but I’m really excited for the Olympics and seeing the actual best-on-best. That’s when we’ll really see who’s got it.

Can you at least change your hideous avatar. I’m sure you can find a better maga.

You actually convinced him to change it! I was about to ask if he was a fan of warcraft because his avatar was an orc.

Whit has a good story about his son and watching the game.
They discuss the Bennett trade as well.

The scathing lack of self awareness in that statement is something.

Despite your attempts to bait, no one will take you up on it because they can already tell you're a simpleton of the highest degree, which is both funny and sad.

The US has obviously gone up a tier since 2014 and while I could be wrong, i think they are much better suited for North American style rinks than international sized rinks. The Tkachuks will not be able to be as effective on the boards and they will find it much more difficult to suffocate Canada like they were able to at times in these two matchups. I believe the Americans have struggled in past tournaments due to the change of style and European teams have often looked on par with them. This could be due to the fact that many of the US players do not play in the world championships and struggle changing their style as it is a bit of a different game. They almost got Canada in 2010 and again now on North American Ice but I cannot remember the last time the US looked good on the bigger surface. Mcdavid and Mack will be much more difficult to contain on international ice. Again I could be wrong and I know the Americans will have a better squad but so will Canada and I favour the Canadian players on bigger ice much more than the Americans.

Ah yes, the classic ‘anyone who doesn’t fall in line with my narrow worldview must be a simpelton’ routine. Groundbreaking stuff.
