I actually don't really like Jonathan Pie, but this came on my feed and seemed not too bad.

For what it’s worth, friends of mine in the US that have connections in DC are of the view that Trump will not have time before the midterms to fully undermine US democracy. Not that he isn’t going to try as hard as possible, clearly he is, just that the runway isn’t long enough for him before a rebuke at the midterms.
I’m hopeful that is true, and that some checks and balances will still remain by then.

Unfortunately, I disagree with this assessment. My agency fired all of of its probationary employees this week. We're probably going to have RIFs. The EOs are destroying so much of the infrastructure needed for modern governance and a modern civil service. Add all of this to the access that Musk is getting and the dangers that creates and it starts looking really bad.
But, what I think is the problem with the idea that we can make it to the midterms is that Trump is in the position of actor and the courts are reactive. So an injured party has to sue to have standing and then also has to find the right venue to sue. I think what we're going to see is that the judicial pushback takes too much time and gives the administration the window they need to truly break it all.

Unfortunately, I have to agree. A short visit to the FedNews sub supports your point. So, apparently there isn’t enough evidence of irreparable harm to keep them out of the IRS.
And I am sooooo sick of hearing that Elon is rich and doesn’t need our money. Haven’t we had enough exposure to the antics of the super-rich to know that for many there is never enough money or enough power? It only matters when the Democrats are the ones with the money?
It’s time for me to delete FB. I used it primarily to connect with the local music community. So many are rabid magats who now post about politics more than music. But it is so telling.
We just started watching Zero Day. Interesting how it starts with plane crashes and train derailments.

Getting pretty fed up with the childish Stepford MAGAt press secretary making annexation threats. Starting to feel violence swelling up.

How is this not being covered more in the media? We now have him and Elon both confirmed as Nazi's now. That's 2 of the closest people to the president. What the hell is going on down there...

Funny thing is, Bannon doesn't like Musk at all.

Makes me long for the silliness of Sean Spicer. This deplorable woman is just as despicable as Trump and Musk.

Spicer was a tool but I always got the impression he took the job for the challenge and was then like "F this." Still deplorable.
Huckabee Sanders was terrible, but Leavitt is full koolaid MAGA Trump worshipper.

Looks like Enrique Tarrio was just arrested in DC for assaulting a counter protester.
Having trouble getting a link for that to post.

Hunter Schafer (Jules on Euphoria) got her passport in the mail. The sex says “M.” She’s trans for those unfamiliar with her.

“Rules for thee but not for me” is the lynchpin of modern right wing ideology.

Not sure if you were making a joke about something you saw last week, and I missed. But it appears according to Yahoo that this one is fake. 9 years ago I would have assumed fake, but given the slowly changing state of reality over the past 9 years, I wasn't sure and had to check.

They all have a certain look to them too... way too many bad, blonde dye jobs on fried hair, and bad fake tans. White House looking more like the White Trash House right now.
