I understand the buy Canadian thing but they already paid for that produce it will just go to waste. Just push the places not to restock the shelves with it.

Same goes for bars and stuff. I heard they won’t serve US liquor but you already paid for that product. Just get rid of it and don’t buy it again. You won’t be getting a refund by keeping it on the shelf.

They can donate it to a foodbank. They can put it in a pile out front marked 'free'. They can cut it up and make salads or smoothies for their deli. They've got lots of MBA's in their head office... get creative.

AGLC says that liquor can not be given away for free unless it is a prize.

It’s Alberta the government says #### the rules.

Consider it a prize for boycotting US products.

first time going to costco in 2 months. Only spent $80 which must be a record low for me. Been doing all my grocery shopping at Superstore since the tariff talk.

Really, that is one of the quotes that requires a link to the vid. Quit being lazy and look it up. Post the time to Fotze's bill.

Its like any product that doesn't move. It goes to waste eventually and they don't rebuy it.

I like to effort, I had to make my kids skip out on toaster strudels for the long weekend.

But, at the end of the day Costco is one of the good ones. they pay their Canadian employees well, they don't really make much for marginal profits off your purchases, their profits are fairly tied up in memberships, and if you have the executive membership / card, they basically make no profit off a transaction with you, just the membership. Additionally, if you look around I think you'd find a lot of Canadian made goods in the store.

To counter that, Superstore is not known for paying their employees that well, has had a few scandals over price fixing / gouging. And they likely have lots of American products if you look on their shelves.

To add to all of that, they are both publicly traded, and likely both enjoy some ownership on either side of the border. I think this trade conflict had a lot more to do with country of origin for goods, and ownership and capital. I'd advocate for looking at the country of origin more than anything.

It's more about pressuring these companies into getting Trump to back off tariffs. We all know that Trump is beholden to the other billionaires in the country. If we can make a dent in their share prices, then it might get them to pressure him to drop the issue.

That's more why boycotting American chains makes sense than any ethical dilemmas. I don't have a Costco membership, but knowing that's where they make most of their $$$, I would be canceling mine if I did.

What’s likely to happen with car prices with anticipated tariffs?
