This ampliphication process the Trump Administration has engaged in over the Annexation of Canada is really annoying. Someone should shut the blowhard up. Good cuff upside the face would suffice.

I’d bet that even most Republicans think that annexation of Canada is pure nonsense. But of course they can’t say it for fear of retribution from the orange s***stain.

The orange rapist craves attention, that is his motivation and why he keeps repeating such garbage. He sees the press it gets so he keeps repeating the same crap. If no one reacted to the 51st state horse#### he would have forgot about it in a day.
As ridiculous as it sounds, I'm thinking the only thing that will get him to lose his mind is if celebrities really turn on him and humiliate him. That's what he cares about, but know what a piece of #### he is, he would just double down.

You could tell him if house are destroyed the value of the remaining housing will be higher and rents will go up.

I don't think a military threat is especially likely, but there are 5 other paths of strange #### trump could do with some willing people in office in Canada. The exact types who run our province for example. Or what about a false flag terrorist attack during elections? U.s comes in to "stabilize and protect".
Ultimately I think soft style political take over is definitely not off the table. Dont sell your house but damn how can anyone NOT take this seriously. If he says it enough he will feel like he has to follow through in some way- see border wall, military extradition of ice detainees, allowing Elon musk to delete parts of the government. These aren't just funny things he's saying for reactions. Wake the #### up.
IMHO, the dossier was always right and trump has always been the Russian asset. Canada is a perfect Ukraine analogy, and no one can risk defending us right now if something does happen. Europe is worried about it's own skin.

India, which is in semi permanent revolving fighter development programs with Russia... so trump is basically gifting Russia the 2nd best and nato standard flight platform for their full analysis.

Trump could be manipulated away from some of his insane ideas if people got on the same page and didn't give his dangerous and unconstitutional claims any buzz or attention, including from influential people whose approval he's likely seeking.
He's obviously always been bothered by the notion of disapproval or irrelevance. Which means it's likely that those things can be leveraged against him.
Too bad every demented thing he says will be cycled through the news and dissected and continue to feed this monster.

100%. He is completely serious about the annexation of Canada. They want to control the entirety of North America, pushing through Canada, taking over the arctic and annex in Greenland. He had his ilk truly believe that Canada would be better off by being an American state in true American fashion.

While I'm inclined to believe Trump is most likely using this tactic to get our collective goat the way a schoolyard bully would, the less likely but much higher impact outcome that he does try and occupy us warrants more discussion than I think is happening, personally. I mean for all the expressions of defiant patriotism we're seeing... We would within hours-days be looking at an asymmetric warfare situation I think (intending no disrespect to our military members).
How would we actually organize a resistance to that? Should we be buying undercover brother beer and ammo in exchange for some basic training while developing a bit of a "before times" network?
I have held off from posting on this since Jan 20th because it all feels completely insane, but a) DJT keeps hammering on this point even in response to unrelated questions, b) He not only proposed crazy things, he sometimes acts on them, and c) what if we are in the same boat Ukrainians were in the weeks before Feb '22 when many said "no, Putin is just bluffing".
Can we afford to have symbolic gestures of patriotism be our only preparation? I don't expect my house to ever burn down either but I still carry insurance.
(Fully expect to get torched by some for suggesting we need to do more than wave flags and sing the anthem louder, but I don't think it's unreasonable any more to ask the question out loud)

Indeed, how as Canadian civilians could we form any sort of resistance against it, rather than by boycotting, American goods, which honestly would mean nothing.

I suppose nothing is out of the realm of possibility with the Great Pumpkin in power. But I would certainly hope that the average American, Trump supporter or otherwise would certainly standup and say "WOAH, WOAH, WOAH enough is enough" and revolt against that sort of ####. I also don't think the rest of our NATO allies and a good portion of the civilized world for that matter would just sit back and watch us get rag dolled.
If anything he'll try to break us economically. I say let them freeze in the dark. There's plenty of other countries to trade with.

I don't see any revolt coming. His base is coming around to the idea of annexing Canada.
And the Democrats are such a weak party that they will do nothing to stand up to Trump. Most of the people who voted against Trump already have it in their mind that they did their part, and there is simply nothing more that can be done. They are a bunch of cowards.
