I hope the trade works for both teams. I have a soft spot for Philly. They kind of remind of the Flames of the East. Never quite good enough to truly tank, and always play second fiddle to the Pens, who get gifted three generational talents.
Philly fans are going to throw batteries at your soft spot.

Ya, very weird. Pelletier does have an i to dot and a t to cross though. That could be it.
The only thing I can think of is that Kuzmenko had a valid North American visa in place when he signed with the Canucks, but Pelletier I think played with the Flames in the US so...its gotta be something related to working for a US employer as opposed to just 'working in the US' but then I dont see how Kuzmenko dodged that.
Not that it matters a ton, we're getting to a break and its not like Philly is stampeding towards a playoff spot.

If you thought this season would have a happy ending, you haven't been paying attention.
I think Frost and Zary are our 1A and 1B Centers for the foreseeable future. I’m ok with it, given the depth we have of wingers and Dmen in the system. If some of these wingers really pop, we’re in pretty decent shape.
I’ve been really impressed by Frost thus far. I also think Zary is underrated by some folks.
Wolf is the biggest difference maker for sure, but this team is shaping up nicely.

I enjoyed that segment. It also makes me realize more how lucky we are to have Ryan Leslie in Flames media world.
That and you can see he has a great relationship with a lot of the players as well. The Pelts smooch, IG live with Gaudreau & Tkachuk in the off season when they left. The interview with Meredith in her home in Columbus etc.

Maybe I'm a Debbie downer but if Frost and zary are our 1a and 1b centers of the future then we're not in a good spot to contend. We should need some serious top end talent in other spots.
One or both of them would have to take some massive strides.

I tend to agree unless the Flames win the McKenna sweepstakes and get a truly elite winger along with Parekh hitting his potential I would really struggle to see this team contend with Zary/Frost as the top 2 centers.

I am not sure it is that bad look at a team like the Dallas stars and tell me which centre/wingers are significantly better than where ours are/project. We could be built very similar to them in a few years with good drafting and trades like the Frost/Farabee one.

But that might be the optimism in me…
I look at Dallas and see a significantly higher end mix of centres and wingers. They have a great mix of skilled youth already contributing at higher levels than our young players (at younger ages) and the older players are still contributing.
