We were model dog owners, all the classes, perfect play partners to all the other dogs at the park, big and small. Became friends with people we met through the dog.
Pandemic comes, getting the full court press, everyone else is getting a dog. In a weak moment I agree. Had no part in the sourcing because of my reluctance. You pick it, be like the previous dog is all I ask. Fack.
It’s a reserve dog. We are not snobs and my wife is a saint (foreshadowing). Whatever, it will be alright. Fata me. All the courses and stuff. Manageable around other dogs, bigger than we hoped. But………
The dog eats its own crap. Immediately.
And before some dork says “he’s missing something in his diet”. We have done ALL of that dumb crap. The money I have spent on fancy foods and vets on this thing. It will look you in the eye as it eats it.
It’s disgusting but my wife will never let it go to someone else. I don’t look at t dog or acknowledge it. It’s a disgusting thing that lives in my house.
I don’t know what to do.
Point blank. It’s a crappy dog. It destroys things when we talk so it thinks it’s a leader. I hate it.

I know right?? Oh wait...you were talking about pets, I thought you meant meant vagrants. I did manage to get a pretty sweet hibachi though.

I've been there.
One of the hardest decisions I've ever made was to give up that dog. I felt like a failure.
In hindsight it was also 100% the correct choice for me and my family, and if anything I should have done it sooner. Life is hard enough without feeling an obligation to manage an animal who despite your best efforts won't be managed.
Sometimes it's just not a good fit.
Recognizing it's a family decision, I'd suggest sitting down with your wife and having a frank discussion about how it's impacting your quality of life.

Now what if we make our own vagrants? Can we trade each vagrant for a hibachi? I’ve got a hook up for vagrant crystal powder.

We elected the UCP...we're making new vagrants every day. Show up to any C-Train station with a box-truck that locks from the outside and you can have as many vagrants as you want!

Last week I saw someone turn going West into the Eastbound lane of Highway 1. They didn’t figure it out until they saw oncoming traffic flashing their lights.
Today I was going down the hill on 12th St SE from 42nd Ave and had to swerve to avoid a guy passing someone going up, on a blind curve.
Add this to the usual dumb#### drivers I encounter every day and I don’t get how we let it get this bad.
CPS, you wanna know how to make up for your budget shortfall? Put cops at any intersection and you’ll catch people rolling through stop signs, not signalling, distracted driving, and countless other infractions. There needs to be enforcement to stop these people from thinking they can do whatever they want on the roads, or force those who don’t know what they’re doing to get proper training.

I wonder when the last time someone in Calgary was given a ticket for failing to signal, definitely not this century.
Just driving to work this morning I added up at least $1,500 of potential tickets solely for not signaling.

Every lane stopped as a light turns green because the 3 cars at the front are all on their phones.

Police should make enforcement of cell phone use while driving a priority. I see it constantly.

I'm sure people do get tickets for it. But what do you think people do when they see a police car? Phone goes down.
Now, if only cops would drive more unmarked cars...I mean that might get some heat on CP but at least they'll be able to write more distracted driving tickets.

Repurpose the red light or photo radar cameras. Just take photos of random cars and most of the drivers would be guilty of distracted driving.

It does get annoying with all these wandering vehicles I see on my commute or cars that don't move at green lights because they are on their phone. It's hard to do because drivers typically put their phones away when they see a police vehicle in traffic. I remember when they used to do those seatbelt sting operations all the time where one or two officers would hide and watch cars going by and then radio a car down the road the licence plates of vehicles driven by drivers not wearing seatbelts. They could do that I guess but there just doesn't seem to be an appetite for the city to really clamp down on this even as it seems more and more people seem to be getting back into this bad habit.

Bike cops. I see so many people on phones at lights while cycling. Easy pickin's.
