Do you think that would deter fanboys from celebrating though?

"Major yay!"
I honestly almost did consider purchasing a model 3/a different EV a few years ago before my current vehicle. But after price point, I was most concerned about the ability to get repairs done in a timely manner if something were to happen.
I'm not gloating, but I'm kinda disappointed my concerns in this matter came true. I assume this won't be fully resolved in the coming 1-2 years if I were to consider a used EV/PHEV vehicle replacement vehicle. It sucks.

I mean, you definitely don't want to consider a Tesla at this point. Not until the company boots Musk. I couldn't imagine wilfully funding the far right global takeover.

Not all actions have to be some huge declaration of what I stand for in life. Also, if I were to buy a used model 3 privately or otherwise, I don't see how such a purchase would be willful funding of a far right global take over.
Come on, if anything, decreasing my ICE operational costs might free up cash flow/resources to spend time arguing against him if I wanted to. There's a lot of idiot Musk related supporters and conversations out there. No need to lower yourself to their level and get beaten by experience.

I'm just saying funding the guy who has used his money to fund the far right all over the globe isn't really something I could personally stand to do. And yes, buying used is still encouraging the market because you assist in the price floor for them, which gives them value.
There are plenty of other good EV's out there. But whatever, just not something I would do at this point. Considering how rapidly he is going downhill, who knows how toxic a Tesla will be to own in 6 months.

Yeah no. Driving a Tesla does not make one a redneck or far right-wing. They are still the best EV's in their price range and a lot of drivers bought theirs before Elon's salute.

Maybe if they ever updated their design I would be able to differentiate between the pre and post-Trump Musk cars

Actually that is my vehicle and someone in the left lane smashed right into the drivers side of my vehicle and pushed me up onto the sidewalk. Newcastle pub staff has been awesome helping me out.

Hey everyone. I was at the scene of this accident. Your posts are shallow and potentially hurtful to the young lady who was hit by no fault of her own.
A young male driver decided to not wait in the left lane behind cars turning left. He moved to the right lane, no turn signal, no safety. Hit her, pushed both vehicles onto the sidewalk, thankfully nobody was walking.
I understand the vitriol towards Tesla right now, but the rage you feel is misdirected. She was innocent and was very shaken up.
Think about before you text your next rage porn moment.

The link works for me. Anyway, it was a dig at Elon, not the driver.

I thanked this only because I agree with the bolded.
However, I would also buy a better car than a second-hand Tesla POS if I were to buy an EV.

Oh, that was several years ago. I probably would have put in an extra $10-20K to get something nicer than the Tesla if possible, and that was also the insanity time when the Ioniq (also no thank you) could almost hit $100K or something? My wife was so upset I'd constantly burst out laughing when she'd say, "Our next vehicle, let's get something fancy, like a Tesla." I'm interested in FSD, but by the time I'm looking, I'm sure other brands will have their own take on FSD, or a smart cruise control that addresses the level of "FSD" I need.
Right now, I'd want a PHEV. I'm not buying a BEV unless it's stupidly underpriced. The way I use vehicles, I'm going to get into trouble with a BEV. I already see my buddy from Cochrane basically have to schedule in supercharging or hanging out at a Calgary buddy's place for a bit of a top up when they come to town (cold snaps/heating eating up the range).
Maybe I'd get a Lightning and roll it into an early mid life crisis or something, and based on some recent trends, I could see Lightnings suddenly drop in value in the next few years. But seriously, my next vehicle is either a dirt cheap whatever is available, or more likely a half decent PHEV.
Splurging... give me a PHEV van with AWD with the power to push 7-8 people into their seats and pass strugglers on the highway with ease... Top up gas for them road trips. Bad ass infotainment system... Oh yeah. I'd drive that bad ass bus.

I got rid of my swastikar at a loss back in November. Quite enjoying my land cruiser which makes no political statement....

I haven't tried a Sienna or Odyssey but get why minivan hype is back.

I own a Pacifica hybrid and we've had the van since 2019
Advantages:
-comfort can't be beat, kids get captains chairs and each have their own screen with a 110v outlet to plug a console in for the 10+ hour trips to Alberta.
-use almost no gas day to day, only using gas when driving more than 50km in a day
-lots of useable space
Disadvantages:
-not particularly powerful and you didn't really get the same instant torque as with EVs
-engine refresh mode means no matter what you're still going to burn some gas from time to time
-twice the drive trains to maintain and for something to go wrong in
-bespoke parts means expensive repairs if not warranty
-current models have outdated entertainment tech. Could use a refresh

As long as the model is high enough, I could see this being an interesting option. The last time I rented a Pacifica, it felt like half decent hardware with awful software. Like, a button for climate control but nothing happens, then later on realizing the model was so low that it didn't have climate control. Stupid stuff like that.
Improve stuff like that and I do think the Pacifica is a very interesting vehicle that will survive for a while.

I own an Odyssey and I've driven a Sienna and Caravan. Other than minor nitpicks, they're all decent vehicles. The only one that felt odd was the Caravan. The Caravan was much more raw vs the other vehicles. It was obvious they tried selling a powerful engine in a van package and bareboned the rest of the vehicle in as many places as possible other than the seats. Easy to get to speed on the freeway and a decent rental vehicle. But personally, I like the slightly improved refinement of the other vans, even though vans aren't really refined at all vs many other vehicle options out there.
