Oh yeah, of course it carries more weight being stated by another person. I try to get my kids do this, but it’s losing efficacy.
I am happy I have the kids trained to not accept free things unless they check my reaction first, at least.

New Democratic Party was founded in 1961 and there's absolutely nothing new about it in 2025. Seems akin to still calling Crosby "Sid the kid".

Reminds me of a Billy Connolly joke where he says he was talking to an American woman who was telling him about all the old buildings in her city... some were over 100 years old. So, he told her that where he's from in Scotland, there's a town called Newbridge, which got its name when they built a new bridge there in the 1200s... and the old bridge is still being used.
