Not that I disagree at this point, but it's really sad that cozying up to an authoritarian regime that may or may not be conducting ethnic cleansing is the smart move

I just made sure I deleted Facebook off my phone and laptop when I went back and shut my mouth about anything political while I was there.

The thing is though the last thing Trump wants is a direct neighbour strengthening their relations with China, a country he despises. If he was concerned that Canada was going to make a great trade deal with China how fast does he try to cut that off and fix things with Canada? I mean it is Trump and he is an absolute narcissistic moron so who knows.

The justice i want served to Trump is for him to be widely viewed as a complete, undeniable, loser. Then die.

I'm generally with you, but agnostic about the order.

I’m not sure Trump actually despises China. He has a fair bit of business there and constantly praises Xi. I think when he remarks negatively about China it’s to cater to his cult.

This is a "Truth" from the orange kunt this morning:
We pay hundreds of Billions of Dollars to SUBSIDIZE Canada. Why? There is no reason. We don’t need anything they have. We have unlimited Energy, should make our own Cars, and have more Lumber than we can ever use. Without this massive subsidy, Canada ceases to exist as a viable Country. Harsh but true! Therefore, Canada should become our Cherished 51st State. Much lower taxes, and far better military protection for the people of Canada — AND NO TARIFFS!

Yeah this is a bigger deal than people seem to think. The leader of the largest military in history is openly talking about annexing us.

Trump can no longer say that under him the USA wasn’t involved in a war. He started one.

The thing is, under his first term he bombed Syria, continued the war on Afghanistan, dropped a MOAB and constantly threatened nuclear war with other countries.

Canada’s military brass should make a statement to their American counterparts:
Issue a public repudiation of your president’s threats, or Canada will cease all military cooperation with the U.S. We will pull out of NORAD, cancel joint exercises, expel all American military personnel in Canada, stop sharing intelligence, and withdraw all Canadian military liaisons from the U.S.
I like to think there are enough sane and rational officers in the U.S. military that they’d recognize the need to calm the waters.

I wonder if it could be framed then The Oompa Loompa has no faith in his own border patrol...that he has to threaten other countries to do their work for them.

You totally should do that. Because without Canada what is NATO? Canada can build their own tanks, artillery, aircraft all of it. It will surely be better right? Then Canada could stand alone vs China or Russia. With the 1.4% of GDP spent on military (NATO agreement says 2% so Canada not even meeting its agreed to spending) you will get there by 2100.
LOL

Time to start negotiating the terms of our annexation. PEI isn't going to get two senators, I can tell you that.
