Flames are rolling right now, no reason to believe that we would be involved in a trade unless it was a hockey trade that took little away from the room.

If Pittsburgh is dealing, maybe it's Karlson ?

No, however the Av's are the only other team Naz would play for at this point in his career. I don't believe talks have ever gotten serious.

What was it Royles shared? The Avs keep coming with Middstadt + but the Flames want Ritchie as the + and that's where things stall.

Yea that was mine, Colorado is very much still seriously in on Kadri as a WANT on their end, but that's if he's available and as of right now I don't think he is.

Kadri is very much loving his time in Calgary and really wants to win here, so I'm not too sure he's interested honestly. I feel like he wants to be the solution here and he's been very vocal about wanting to add some skill this year.

Thanks Royle. I imagine every win from the flames would galvanize Conroy’s desire to let things play out. Not that he wouldn’t listen to offers I’m sure but the price to disrupt this group could be going up with every win. Especially since the guys that teams would be calling about (Andersson/Kadri/Coleman) are under contract past this season so trading them could be revisited in the offseason. He wouldn’t really feel the pressure to trade them now as long as the flames keep playing well.

I mean, unless they're gonna add Ritchie which is the player type at the top of their list, I get not wanting to move Kadri. But the Flames also have to be cognizant of when to strike when the irons are hot too on aging assets.

Again, if their ask is met, no reason not to. But Kadri has the power in all this as well.

Moving kadri would tank this season i think, and as much as i have been on team tank i think the only major move we make this year is if that mythical right shot center comes into the picture. Frankly nothing could benefit the team more than adding that player.

Or if a good deal cane about for a 4 5 defencemen with maybe a little too big a contract for what he brings type deal.

I think it’s going to be a quiet trade deadline.

If Colorado has serious enough interest in Kadri to be offering Mittelstadt+ then it's something that the Flames do have to seriously consider.

Kadri has been great but he's 34 with 4 years left on that contract. If Sec and Royal are right and the only real places he will play are Colorado, Toronto, or Calgary then you're pretty much moving him now or you're probably stuck with the remainder of that deal.

Colorado isn't going to wait and they are going to fill that centre role here eventually.

If they are willing to do a 1st as the add then that's probably enough for me even if it's not Ritchie.

And it gives the Flames options...get Mittelstadt for Kadri and flip the 1st you get for Cozens/Pinto/etc and you're not necessarily tanking this season and getting younger in the long term as well.
