Avalanche will be considerably worse after trading him but if he wants close to $15 million I understand why they are making the deal. Sucks to lose such a good player though.

Guys often pick up the slack when the star goes down. For a while. But they usually can't maintain that pace. Rantanen is really good, but IMO, he's a 70-80 point guy in most situations.

Not sure I would be happy about that is I was an Avs fan. His contract is probably close to fair value today but I wouldn't want to hitch my wagon to him to 29/30.
