Gen Zs don't know what to do at a concert. They sit politely and just become little camera-people. They never lived the pre-phone moshing days. I've never seen something so depressing.

At my last concert I had to stand and jump around in protest to that ####. Inspired a few to go along with it, probably pissed off some others.

You paid a whole week's wages to come to this thing, get into it kiddies. Let your freak flag fly.

Man that’s so absurd and I sympathize with you for it. What an odd place for a corporate get together, a stoner prog rock show. Doubly so if I were feeling no pain.

Nothing is more lame than sitting on your tarp at Folk Fest. Half the people are just yakking with friends or even reading books. Stand up! Dance!

That's right. And if that's what you want to call a bit of carpe diem and making memories then fair enough, amigo.

But I'd maintain that somewhere inside that highly-strung guy is a mini Pepsi (maybe the Wild Cherry ediiton) that isn't a bummer and too mature or "cultured" for a bit of unbridled enthusiasm.

I'm not sure what you think concerts are for, exactly. Genre dependent of course, but bands usually want to see people move around and get excited. Shows that their performance is hitting.

Pirating is awesome! Mario66 is the greatest thing since sliced bread. Never having to listen to the SN clowns is a blessing.

Yeah I don’t know man. I somehow go to concerts and enjoy myself.

Protest-dancing people doing their thing? Inspiring and/or pissing people off… by dancing? Usually when I dance or mosh or loudly sing along I just… do… because I feel like it? Can’t say I’m ever self-conscious enough to make up narratives around it or think about why I did it or what anybody else thought about it after the fact. But I’m clearly missing out on the whole Footloose cosplay element of the experience.

But I really don’t think standing in one place and barely moving is functionally different than sitting.

Carpe diem, ok amigo?

Trent seems like the type to say cheers when someone says thank you.

I love the online discourse that happens every year on social media about the tarpies. Always good for a laugh. I think there have even been artists at Folk that have complained about the setup too, and then there are the diehard tarpies that live for it.
