Shelton railing on the broadcasters - personally I think they do a pretty good job of not just being suits like a lot of other tournaments. With that you're going to get a few misses like the Novak issue and a few others in the past but at least people actually want to listen to the interviews in Melbourne.
Bringing race into what was a very light hearted comment about the oldest player on tour is just shameful though....is he searching for headlines?

I think it's been a pretty bad tournament for channel 9. I think Australians need to stop making excuses for their Aussie humour that's really not as funny to the rest of the world as it is to them.

Yeah, this is not the first time that Tony Jones has faced criticism either, back in 2019, he was quite patronizing towards Naomi Osaka following her win over Petra Kvitova. I think the best word to describe him is "prat".

Alcaraz admitted after the match he lost concentration after the first set when Djokovic went off court for a medical timeout. Hopefully this is a lesson for the young man, it's certainly not the first time we've seen it....

spicy. Also do players not already know you never give Nole a reason to be fired up? It's the Iginla protocol...let the beast sleep

Incredible stuff from Madison Keys and she will take on Aryna Sabalenka in the women's final.

Quite the run for Keys at this Aussie Open as she has defeated in the following order:
Li
Ruse
Collins
Rybakina
Svitolina
Swiatek
Sabalenka will be the heavy favorite, but what an impressive run if Keys has one more upset left in her.

Djokovic isn't even playing well, Zverev with four chances to break with second serve opportunities and can't cash in.

Novak just retired after dropping the opening set in a tie-break. A chorus of boos as he leaves the court.

I'm getting flashbacks of the Oilers getting all the breaks on their way to game 7 of the Stanley Cup finals last season. Need a similar ending again.

Well I feel like a fool, didn't expect Djokovic to retire, must be a major injury. I hope he is able to come back this season, Nadal was never the same after his abdominal injury in Wimbledon. Really need Sinner or Shelton to take out Zverev in the final.

Despite a slow start, Carrot didn’t actually spend that much more time on court today

I would say Tommy, he served for both set 1 and set 2 in his match versus Zverev and failed both times to seal the deal.

Gaby and Erin lost in the semi-finals last night to Ostapenko and Hsieh in three sets, but a good run for the Can-Kiwi duo at the first slam of 2025. I think the powerhouse team of Townsend and Siniakova will prevail in the women's doubles final.

He's been big 3 good over the last calendar year. Zverev has zero margin for error and I'm still not sure if his best day will be good enough.

Anyone watching the womens final? It's been a great run for Keys but if Sabalenka plays anything like she did in the semis this is over in 2.
