Also in the same boat. Mom's cancer came back for the 3rd time. At 88 years old, it isn't looking good.

Last Thursday I saw Sum 41 and Gob for $54/ticket (including all fees and BS). Back of second tier of the Dome. Dead on the stage and the sound was good. I was surprised they were that cheap, though. Typically tickets are way more expensive.

Great show, btw.

It seems to really depend on the genre. Tickets for country and pop music are predictably the most expensive. I go to lots of metal shows at Mac hall, grey eagle and the palace, most of those tickets rarely go over $40.

Meh. I’m older. I trim my eyebrows when I trim my beard. It takes a few seconds.

Bragging about pirating stuff is always kind of a weird flex, yet everyone who does it wants to tell everyone they know.

Like yeah, "stealing" is a way to get literally anything for free, who knew?

Days I could live with...Months...not so much.

Not a big deal as I do most of my stuff online.

Maybe the "caught up" statement was related to Xmas mail...

Still GMG's...

True story. I've never pirated music or movies/television. Not even a single mp3. Not flexing as I don't know if that makes me an ethical nerd or simply naive.

People were cheering on theft in retail stores by gangs and dummies in the "shrinkage" thread.

I pirate Flames games because SportsNet doesn't provide as good of a service for $20/mo as I get for free.

Yeah, the back of the arena was $54 all in, the lower bowl, most of the second tier and floor were $88-$350. Personally I've sat where you sat for that show and I can't do it. Just too far away and removed from the band, especially with the sound quality at the Dome for concerts.

Yeah, I hear you.

Gob sounded like garbage, but I haven't seen them in 20 years, so was so happy to see them again.

Sum41 sounded great even back there, which isn't always the case at the Dome.

I love shows so much, though, that for $54 there's no better entertainment spend for me. Plus, I love Sum41. Last time I saw them I was up close and personal at Max Bell.

I would have paid more for better seats, but I was going with a couple friends and one put in the request for 'least expensive seats possible'. I'm not going to swing my dick around and push for pricier ones when somebody says that...been going to shows with these dudes for 30 years. If you want cheap, I'm fine with cheap.

edit: On Gob sounding lake garbage...it was the PA quality; not the band.

I can't even imagine to going to a concert these days. Zero desire to see any bands in person anymore.

I have been to like 400 concerts in my life but I think I have officially turned old. I would rather listen to music at home with my ear buds while getting stuff done around the house.

Every time my wife brings up going to concert I strongly suggest she make it a ladies night out.

I definitely like to be seated these days hah.

I was standing for what felt like a million hours at the Dropkick Murphys/Pennywise show in October. Next standing show I'm going to claim disability and bring my scooter. Standing is the worst.

Yeah it's weird how standing in one spot gets more uncomfortable as you age. Walking is fine. Sitting is fine. Lying down is fine. Running usually sucks (but it always did). But when you're standing in one spot, crap just starts to hurt. Lol, age.

Odd I can stand no problems, but sitting kills my hips.

It takes them 10-15 steps to loosen up.

Most of my day I stand

Oh yeah that's understandable. I guess I went the opposite way, I started with budget seats at shows for my 20's and I guess just didn't experience what a concert could be.

Went to one or two shows on the floor or super good seats and will never go back on that now. Luckily I have a good friend group that is all on the same page. Yeah it's expensive but it's an experience.
