Yup and their defense not being able to get a stop led to the offense trying to play more aggressive and then it led to the turnovers.

In the end the Lions season was just done in by all the injuries to their defense and not much they could do about that.

But the turnovers, save maybe the first one, were all so unnecessary. None of the situations were bad enough to call for the force. Detroit lost their poise and Washington was also extremely aggressive which is what you gotta do to pull an upset.

This has to be extremely disappointing for that market. To play this poorly in the playoffs after having such a great regular season. Crushing way to end the season.

Credit to the Commanders. They were aggressive and executed at a high level.

Dan Quinn is a fantastic story about how he's transformed, especially after the Atlanta job and the SB loss. A lot of self reflection, a lot of mental sacrifice to become a better coach and leader. Seriously spent a lot of time using a lot of mentors, a lot of advice, trying to get more perspective to become a better person.

He is a great defensive coach, as he was in Seattle then Dallas. But he knew he needed to become a better person to become a better coach and leader.

Commanders have said they want to run through the wall for him.

So happy for such a good guy.

Pretty stunning upset by the Commanders. Really impressed with how Daniel's looks so cool back there. Hard to criticize the Rams now for the Stafford trade.

Daniels vs. A sympathetic Rams team, played in Arizona. Writes itself.

Tough thing for the Lions is the fact they'll likely be losing their coordinators this year too.

In the NFL, you usually, if built right, have a good team capable of going far for three to four years, but within that a couple years, at most, of a solid SB team.

But, then players want to get paid for that success or move on. Either way it weakens the team, either losing the player or losing cap space. Coordinators leave.

Detroit will be ok next year. Johnson can write his ticket to most anywhere he wants, Glenn will take the fall for the defense.
But they will lose a few more games the next regular season, and then will be a wildcard team, maybe playing on the road, as opposed to a bye week at home as was this year. That extra game, that feeling of not being as solid and smooth as this season, may affect them.

I knew the football gods wouldn't give us Bills vs Lions, it just doesn't work that way. Man did Detroit blow it last night, that was wild. So many sloppy turnovers, and Daniels destroyed that banged up defence. Just too many injuries on that side of the ball.

Jayden Daniels is 1 win away from being the 1st rookie QB to ever start in a Super Bowl, what a season. He's gotta be OROY (I know it's only for regular season, but, y'know..)

He’s just so much better than Williams in every facet of the game.

Which frankly was clear even last year in their senior seasons. Maybe it was just the games I caught Williams in at USC last season, but I was never that impressed with him. JD was such a beast last year with LSU, Bears should've taken him.

(Williams isn't a bust or anything, but he's not Jayden).

EDIT: also, I won't post it as we're at an age where it'll just get eyerolls on here, but that Eagles playoff jam with Too Short I just saw on the socials is awesome hahaha. Isn't he from L.A.? The 7 Rams fans in L.A. won't be happy...

10 years from now Williams will still be the best QB of the Draft imo. He just either needs to leave Chicago, or Chicago needs to nut up and pay a coaching staff

I like Williams a lot....has all the tools. Might already be damaged goods however.

He was treated like the proverbial red-headed step child this season and took a lot of punishment, often for holding the ball way too long. He was getting happy feet a ton later in the season and that can be a career limiter. 3rd most sacks against one QB in a season in league history.

The Bears should never have thrown CW in that dumpster fire of an offense they cobbled together and in particular behind that Oline.

But i think its pretty clear that Daniels is a better QB by a fair margin. No reason to think that wont continue with both the experience and better coaching he will get just by being in the playoffs this year.

I mean they had an Olineman out front of Hurts and he had no one to even block!

Way to easy.

Thinkin the Rams arent liking the weather much.
