Star receivers Kenny Lawler and Dalton Schoen are still without contracts for 2025, but general manager Kyle Walters isn’t ruling out the possibility of Winnipeg retaining both.
“You have funds allocated for different spots and sometimes things change quickly,” said Walters from the CFL’s winter meetings in Charlotte, N.C., on Tuesday. “Last year, it didn’t seem possible that — I believe it was Brady (Oliveira) and Dalton (Schoen who needed contracts) — and then right at the last minute, (offensive lineman) Jamarcus (Hardrick) went to (Saskatchewan) and freed up some money. It’s tough to say what’s going to happen over the next few weeks, so anything can happen, I guess.”

No way they can sign both and remain cap compliant but we all know it's probably going to happen because it's the CFL after all.

What a joke honestly, and it's not like we just send scrubs for Flo we shed salary and added a bit more.
If these guys make it to free agency, we should just abuse the cap as well, who cares.
They just signed Jefferson who isn't coming cheap.

I mean, that's the thing, if you truly want to put a team on the field to compete for the Grey Cup, you are going to be exceeding the cap. The fines are as follows:
Under $100,000: Teams are fined $1 for each dollar they are over
$100,000 or more: Teams are fined double the amount they are over
Over $300,000: Teams are fined triple the amount they are over
I have read that draft picks can be lost as well, but it seems a little murky when that comes into play.

Flo signs a 1 year extension so we have him for the 26 season as well.
I like his attitude, he expressed what needs to change here to Dave and is going to be a key leader.
Adams and Flo just with swagger should make a huge difference. They are also upgrading other parts of our building like the gym etc.
With my inability to sleep being since sick, I was reading more about what was the issue around food. Apparently, we only give corn flakes and bagels for breakfast, and cold sandwhiches for post practice meals. That is going to change.

Yup, and I feel like the Stamps are probably not being cheap but trying to keep a strong roster together on discounts and being the good guys of the league not exceeding the cap.
That is probably changing now. I mean who cares if everyone else is cheating and its costing us our image and wins we might as well join in.

Grey Cup is in Winnipeg this year. They have a chance to go to their 6th straight cup. There is no cap in Winnipeg this year.

Schedule includes a July 3rd "Inaugural Stampede Bowl" match. I think this is a good idea. I never really liked how the Stamps were never in town during Stampede. I have relatives that have come into town for Stampede and were disappointed that the Stamps weren't playing.
Also wondering if there will be limited parking at McMahon that game as they rent out the place to RVs during Stampede?
Looks like a decent schedule overall, more summer games, lots of Saturdays.

Also will be 37 in August. He showed signs of decline last season and hard to imagine that's not a trend now. I'm sure Bombers will spend a lot of $$$ to surround him with as much talent as possible.

I heard it was due to opposing teams not being able to find suitable accommodations during that time.

Elks release Loucheiz Purifoy who then is suspended by the league for two games for testing positive for PEDs.
Veteran defensive back Loucheiz Purifoy has been suspended two games for violating the Canadian Football League and the CFL Players’ Association’s joint drug policy.
Purifoy tested positive for the banned substance Amfetamine, a common stimulant. The drug can be prescribed medically to treat conditions like ADHD, narcolepsy, and obesity, but can also be utilized as a performance enhancer to improve focus and reaction time. It is also commonly used recreationally to improve alertness and energy.

They'll just not rent out spots to RV's during stampede this year.

Or won't rent the space out until Stampede actually starts.

Mills is back.
The Calgary Stampeders have re-signed American running back Dedrick Mills. He was a pending free agent.
“We look forward to seeing Dedrick take the next step in his development as a premier back in our league,” said head coach and general manager Dave Dickenson in a statement.
The five-foot-ten, 227-pound native of Waycross, Ga. made 12 starts this past season, rushing 163 times for 923 yards, making 31 catches for 327 yards, and scoring one touchdown. He set new career highs in rushing and receiving.
