Attacks on our industries.

I doubt her plan is to separate. Segregate maybe.

No. But like I said what were the open attacks on the feds that weren’t prevoked? I can’t think of any.

Firs,t what's the difference in your mind? Second, why don't you believe the words that come out of her mouth? Is it because you think she is a liar?

DS will tell her truth when surrounded by her people and will lie to the general public when it serves her. So all you have to do is go find her old videos where she's talking to her people, and you can hear her plans, and know the direction she is going.

The premier said that Trump’s apparent interest in Alberta’s energy resources encouraged her. Still, she acknowledged that no commitments were made to exempt oil and gas from the tariffs set to take effect on Jan. 20.

"I think we need to be prepared that tariffs are coming," Smith said.

Success! Oh...wait.

The premier dismissed federal Foreign Affairs Minister Mélanie Joly’s comments about a possible energy embargo as leverage in trade discussions. "Oil and gas are owned by the provinces, principally Alberta, and we won’t stand for that," Smith said. "You should never, ever threaten something you cannot do."
Oh, hello pot. I assume the Feds could embargo our energy? This is international policy, so the provinces don't have a say. Is that correct?

This actually brings up another question about tariffs. Our electrical grids are interconnected in locations, including Alberta-Montana, but probably more importantly, out east. How would tariffs work on this? Flows go back and forth, so this looks like a nightmare to manage. Obviously Trump hasn't thought this through, but practically speaking, is this even possible?

Smith has Quebec on her side when it comes to energy trade though so the Feds won't touch it. The Liberals won't piss off Quebec purposefully.

Alberta Premier Danielle Smith, Quebec Premier François Legault and Newfoundland and Labrador Premier Andrew Furey have all said they are opposed to cutting off energy exports to retaliate.

Any attempt to touch Alberta's energy exports will result in an immediate constitutional crisis according to Smith.

This is doing a lot of heavy lifting in your sentence.

Can't believe that Smith went down to meet Trump with Kevin ####ing O'Leary. Undermine the whole ####ing country to protect O&G. This is perfect for Trump if he truly does want Canada. Divide and conquer baby. Canadians should be furious.

What are the chances Trump looked over to this staff and asked them who was that?

He probably thought she was part of the staff serving hors d'oeuvres

I think Trump's tariff threats are bluster; but, if they aren't, you have to retaliate.

A rare opportunity to see an export tariff in action, perhaps

A lot of fund managers are operating as if the tariffs are just threats with no teeth.

It would be pretty trivial to place export levies on oil, but not on electricity. And there is some logic there. Canada imports some US electricity, so they'll likely want to keep it as barrier free as possible. And curtailing electricity exports primarily hurts blue states who have little leverage with Republicans and Trump.

Do you have a source to back up that claim?
