Who are you mad at?
Good chance this was going to happen with Wolf. He is a star. Not like a bunch of guys are having career years, they are in line with what they have done before and not playing all that well.
We also have prideful vets like Huberdeau who have had their character assassinated, he wants to do well.
Wolf had a lot to prove as well.

Playoffs will be out of the question if they don't start Wolf more.
It might be the right choice developmentally, but we're probably looking at a 17th-20th place finish.
Team needs a .92 save percentage behind it to win games. Can't compete with anything under .90

That did they not learn? They traded pretty much every player that is easy to move besides Andersson

If they slip in January that will lead to moves in February or prior to the deadline. A slide down the standings closer to 10 isn't out of the question.
That said, last night was a bad outing, in general they'd been just above 500 for the year. I still say they make the playoffs and Wolf will undoubtedly start more games. Not starting him at home, against a team below them in the standings, with his record? That wasn't for his development. It was just a bad call.

The Flames came out totally flat, passionless in the 3rd and it cost them quickly.

The returns would have been much better if they moved them earlier, not saying they waited too long like the Iginla trade but definitely could have done a bit better IMO

Fourth game in six nights. But if the NHL wants to manufacture all these breaks then everybody has to deal with it.

Wolf starting 41 this year and maintaining his play is great but nine more games hitting 50 isn't bad if he's playing well.

Wolf's also been a full time starter in the AHL for 3 seasons and has played 55+ games (including playoffs) the past two seasons. Shesterkin and Vasilevsky never had a season close to those numbers prior to their NHL debuts. He's entirely capable of handling a 50 game workload in the NHL. If they are limiting his starts so he can focus on development sessions in his off-days, that's totally fine. But I think at this point, it's time to cut bait with Vladar and see what you have with Cooley if the team is deadset on Wolf splitting time.
It's obvious Vladar is nothing more than a mediocre back-up at this point in his career and no team is going to give up anything more than a late round pick to acquire him. The more he plays, the less value he has as the hot start he had drifts further away. You might as well see what Cooley is at the NHL level sooner so you can make a decision on what his future is with the team and increase his sample size if he plays very well and looks like a tradeable asset next season.

Which trade did you think Conroy could have done better?

-The Flames (rebuilding or not) getting caved in twice by the Coyotes HC is unacceptable. That team is garbage. A reasonable effort should ensure points against them.
-Wolf had one of his rare bad outings against Utah so I guess in retrospect the Vladar start makes a little more sense. Not knowing how the game would go, I may have started Vladar too.
-Enough with the blasty jerseys. Spread out the games, and schedule less of them overall. Feels like our primary reds aren't even our jerseys lately.
-Zary is great. Probably the team's most impactful forward outside of Huberdeau and Kadri. I respect how the kid drives the net and will lean on defenders as he does it. A lot of other forwards could take note and implement some of the same into their own games. We'll have to score goals in that hard-nosed fashion if we're going to score enough to win down the stretch.

They were going to give the team two seasons no matter what after the Tkachuk trade IMO. In hindsight they should have just rebuilt on that Tkachuk trade but I thought they were going to be competitive until the UFAs term ran out.

They in fact are not garbage, they should be what we strive to be. Young and talented especially up front. They have a #1 and #2 C 20 and 28 years old. A top line LW and RW 26 and 21 years old.

They've sucked for decades and are .500
I'd aspire to get the same situation at center, but I wouldn't aspire to be them.

In those decades we have won 2 playoff series and they have…what, 2?
I would have traded rosters with them before the Sergachev contract.

It was just bizarre to see the Flames struggle this season against what is essentially still the Coyotes, a team not only below them in the standings (perennially?) but one that they've had success against certainly in recent years.

Thought you were talking about the flames until I got to the centers part. Wish we had some of that.

Why walk out the same dribble?
A team that moves 7 free agents, their starting goaltender, and goes into a season with $20M in cap space isn't following a familiar plan.
You're judging a franchise for not doing the right things, when it's a team that works hard and cares.

If we swapped their top 4 forwards for ours, with our goaltending we are likely fighting for a division title.
