I had a quiet moment last night, which is a rarity at this time of year with a very busy and festive 4 and 6 year old, so I dug into my gift and holy eff did I get spoiled. Huge shout out to Cheese as he encountered some fairly large shipping obstacles due to the CP strike and the fact I live in the middle of a forest and he went above and beyond to make sure it made it to me. Makers Mark is a shared fave of my brother and mine and he’ll be over tomorrow, so we’ll share a few glasses and also try out the Woodford Reserve. Both spices look amazing and I am really looking forward to testing them out. And last but certainly not least, the meat thermometer might be the niftiest tech I will have in my kitchen/deck smoking area. I am floored by how sleek and functional it is. Thank you Cheese and Merry Christmas! Also, the packaging and wrapping put my gift to shame, so I’ll have to up my game next year!

Golden opportunity missed to send him a literal bag of pucks.

I'd have sent him a bag of pucks 2 days before the real gift.

Have you seen what pucks cost these days!!! As a hockey coach, I would have happily accepted pucks, but whiskey, spices and a meat thermometer is much much better.

Yes.

I was a youth soccer coach for 10 years. I understand.

"Hey Coach can I have a drink out of your water bottle??"

Um....no.

Yeah, pretty sure a bag of pucks would have went over the CP budget for Secret Santa. it's crazy.

I think a lot of us went over the “budget” and didn’t mind one bit.

Ya I was agreeing about being over budget

You think all that bourbon being gifted plus extras and a full meal kit with 3 bottles of wine and oysters is $30?

Maybe in the 60’s

(Edited my original statement to what I meant)

I'm not sure what you're on about but I was simply making an add on joke about the price of pucks, unrelated to what people are spending on gift exchange. You're a little too locked in right now and a little too intense I'd say, lol.

You lifting weights while typing that response?

I am genuinely unaware of the price of pucks.

Okay, yeah you're edit is a lot better. That was an intense, gym rat response originally, lol. I think you just missed the joking about hockey pucks and were proud of of the gifts people gave and went off, lol.

Lmao! Oh my, I’m probably one of the most chill and sarcastic guys on this board. So, you be wrong, lol

Sorry if it came across that way. I was just commenting on how no one is sticking to a budget, me being one of them. And that not one of us care.

Man, I wanted to keep the gift I created.

Lol! So what you're saying is...if we trade a prospect for a bag of pucks we might be actually coming out ahead!

Thats this inflationary economy for ya!

"Sorry...we have to let you go...we need the pucks..."

Ah okay, so that means you just missed the hockey puck joking, and also you're original, edited response was quite intense and angry, lol. All good.

And yes, hockey pucks are annoyingly expensive these days, that's what we were joking about.
