And...I dont know what it is, I like Championship rings. I think they're cool.

They're preposterous and gaudy and I cant imagine actually wearing one without at least some passing affiliation with hip-hop...but I think its a cool tradition to celebrate something important with a ring.

Pretty cool that Weegar's 500th game is against the Panthers. Looking forward to this one.

Those grey shot location charts show you a lot

Flames have an above average number of shots from straight up the middle

Florida has a lot of shots from locations which logically include cross crease, Calgary below average

The video and comments from the ice in Florida after Game 7 should be played right after the national anthems to be honest.

It can never be overstated how much the Carolina and Florida wins have saved each and every Flames fan and proper Calgarian, of stress and annoyance.

An American born player who was here in the city for 6+ seasons got it, understood it, and expressed as much on national TV mere minutes after the biggest moment of his professional hockey career.

Why does it feel like our whole season depends on this game?

Like...in what capacity?

This team was supposed to suck. It was designed to suck. It was all about giving rookies chances.

Yeah, they over-performed initially, but we all knew they were coming down.

What expectations did you have for this team? I'm thinking 'Young Guns.' These are going to suck for 3-5 years.

You can thank Treliving for that. But this team has to shuffle some people out, draft some people in and probably make some astute trades and signings, but we're going to be crap for a good long while.

Don’t forget Michkov with 27 points in 29 games. Lane Hutson just got his first goal, and finally on PP1.

It a 4 man race I think.

Yeah. I think Wolf would have to get a lot of starts and put up god-like numbers to get the Calder. Guys like Celebrini, Michkov and Hutson get so much media attention and it’s also just rare for goaltenders to win the award.

Unlike the other players in the hunt, Wolf would have to basically get the flames into the playoffs while playing at least 60% of the remaining games in order to win the Calder. If he did that, he would definitely deserve it over the other players listed IMO. A very high bar for any young goaltender but it’s the nature of how these awards go. It’s rarely very fair. See Iginla 2002 for the Hart Trophy.

Even if Wolf does get them to the dance, if Michkov gets 80 pts, he'll win the Calder.

Glad we're back to some Wolf starts.

I have nothing against Vladar but his days with the team are numbered. Not watching Wolf for consecutive nights feels like a waste of time and makes the games less interesting.

I want to watch our next franchise player play! Even if he's not at his best.

This should be a great game. You have the usual suspects that used to play for the enemy always doing their best to look beat their old teams, and you have two teams coming off losses (one getting blown out). They should both be working hard to grab 2 points here. I expect a fun game to watch tonight.

This one is gonna be ugly.
Not gonna be Wolfs fault but he’s going to get lit up for a 2nd straight game.

Barkov not out for warmups - not playing? Edit: ill. Apparently Lankinen out for the Canucks with the flu, too.

This is a "show me what you got" game for the Flames. Needs a gutsy effort to recover from the TB massacre.

It doesn't. We are not making playoffs regardless of a win or loss tonight.

We are in a rebuild and a high pick would be great though.

I’m excited for a more youthful lineup. I’m intrigued to see if Sharangovich - Zary - Pelletier can be a line.
