No Iginla either? LOL, I won't be cheering against Canada this year, but also won't shed tears when they lose. What odd choices.

Obvious bias against the city of Calgary.
No Parekh.
No Iginla.
No Yakemchuk (he’s from here).

I figured they would take one of Zane and Yak and it was a toss up over which
Not taking either? That’s strange
And not inviting either to camp? Even stranger

I feel bad for the good kids that grow up in Canada dreaming of playing for their country. Hockey Canada was rotten to the core and has been for a long time. A full house cleaning was in order for just as long. These decisions are just baffling

Is Canada doing their usual "two way" players only thing? Since the 2010 Olympics they've been obsessed with snubbing offensive players and playing a "Canadian" game.

I wonder if already picking Cristall and Price from Kelowna hurt Iginla. That doesn't explain Perkh - no players at all from Saginaw (including Misa - though his age may be a factor).
EDIT: Just a quick scan shows me a bunch of scoring defencemen in the OHL and WHL that got bypassed. Looks like it's what people said - they are overstrategizing and trying to invent a defensive team. Maybe because the goalies aren't strong?

Parekh outscored the Canucks prospect that was invited by 40 pts last season. It’s all political.
Sennecke is having an unreal season too, 4 goals and 6 pts in his last game. Ridiculous

Wow, that's four out of the first nine players drafted in 2024... does Hockey Canada think it's smarter than NHL scouting staffs?

That's a tough roster to crack at forward. That's deep and skillful.
The back end packs a little flash overall it's pretty well rounded.
Goaltending is going to be the question mark. I don't know how Canada has fallen off the map so completely from developing top 5 goaltending talent but we haven't had one since Carey Price.
