Alberta is becoming more like Florida every day with this government. And it's absolutely disgraceful.

It's time to create a religion based on diversity, equality and inclusion principles so that school systems can take advantage of this exemption. Call it Opus DEI to piss off the Catholics.

While we're at it, create a religion based on scientific and evidence-based principles to kneecap future UCP government's religious-based exemptions. Along with it being a tax-free venture, it would be fun to watch them list which religions they deem legitimate or not.

In all seriousness, these actually aren't even bad ideas. Would be fun to watch the UCP twist in the wind trying to accommodate what they can't/don't want to say out loud.

Just look south of the border of the story of the guy who believed in the Church of the Flying Spaghetti Monster (Pastafarianism) and went through a protracted battle to get his driver's license photo to show him wearing a colander on his head. Spoiler: he eventually won.

This might be worthwhile if the UCP weren't hypocrites with no logical consistency, shame, or morals.

If I had the wherewithal to do it, I would probably take a run at it. Instead, I'll gladly let someone else take the idea and make it real.

ETA: All I ask is the opportunity to guest pastor occasionally.

“It is telling that one of the primary topics of discussion between incoming President Donald Trump and Prime Minister Justin Trudeau was oil and gas pipelines. It once again demonstrates that the path to strong security and economic relationships with the United States is directly tied to our nation’s commitment to providing the United States with the oil and gas it requires to achieve its energy security and affordability goals.

“We therefore reiterate our call to the Prime Minister to immediately scrap the Canadian oil and gas production cap and work with Alberta and all provinces to secure the border from illegal drugs and illegal migrants and, critically, to commence work on additional pipeline infrastructure between Canada and the United States.”

I've seen all kinds of religious accommodation requests but my favorite is the company I used to work at....call center employee wanted accommodation to answer the phone as a pirate - "Ahoy mate!" as he claimed it was part of his pastafarian religion.

I don’t know, maybe it’s just me. But people pushing for things like this are just annoying and irritating.

You're telling me. But religion is a protected ground and legally it's not restricted to 'big organized religion that we all know', it can be any set of sincere beliefs even if it's a religion of 1 so yeah, annoying and irritating.

We ended up terminating for performance and not following customer scripts.

I'd like to know whether the photo radar revenue has declined since the vehicles are brightly marked. I do think that they're putting photo radar in spots where there are artificially lower speed limits though. Places where the limit could be higher, and they know they can generate that sweet ticket revenue.

Wonder what a venn diagram looks like that includes people who complain about photo radar, people who are against defunding the police, and people who complain every time property taxes go up.

Probably lines up pretty well with the circle they filled in voting for UCP.

Residents of a northern Alberta town have voted in favour of a bylaw banning Pride flags and rainbow crosswalks from municipal property.

The town of Barrhead, located about 120 kilometres northwest of Edmonton, says 1,145 votes were cast in the plebiscite, with 653 in favour of the proposed bylaw and 492 opposed to it.

Budget survey up, with perhaps the most annoying way you could imagine to rank choices.
