Yeah, good luck getting Trouba to waive anywhere, new baby and he and his wife are free agents at the same time.

I agree that Kirkland is riding a hot wave and likely isn't an NHL'er on most NHL teams, but I think there has to be something about the vibes/aura that the fourth line brings between him & Lomberg. Already two of the biggest fan favorites, and you can just feel a different energy when they're out there.

I've been to 5 home games this year, and maybe it's just my experience, but the Dome is absolutely dead this season despite the record. Attendance is brutal and the crowd has been quiet despite the hot start.

Everytime I've heard the Dome at its loudest (goals aside) is when Lomberg and/or Kirkland are on the ice.

For that reason, I think Kirkland needs to be a mainstay on the Flames all season. Just for the vibes & entertainment alone.

Not to mention last I checked, he has scored 3 out of 4 shoot out attempts.

That places him, by far the best on the team.

Still don't see why he is not a solid 4th liner,

Flames 4th line has chemistry, no need to change anything in my view.

So he's Petteri Nummelin. Who, you ask? Exactly.

I doubt the Sens have any interest in trading Giroux, unless he wants out.

They need to fit Andersson in somehow in that deal. He's the only one who comes close. Zub will got LTIR but that's not going to last the whole season.

But if they want a cheap fill in guy, Flames can trade Barrie or Hanley.

Re: Trouba's no trade list. I wonder if Drury tries to put him on waivers to bypass his 15 team NTC.

Drury has done it once before with Barclay Goodrow.

Pinto + 2025 unprotected 1st (or Yakemchuk) + Kleven for Andersson.

Seravalli on the barn burning today saying Ottawa might be looking for a shakeup, and mentions Noris.

I'd definitely prefer Pinto or Greg, but if the price was right..

Andersson for Yakemchuk & Pinto, but it has to happen now.

Senators need to appease their Captain and make the playoffs this year.

No legit rumours. Just fan speculation.

This is where trades are hard though...I would have expected Tomasino to cost more than a 4th.

How much more is Cozens at $7.1M worth than Tomasino at $0.875M.

Cozens is 174 points in 301 NHL games (0.58 P/GP)

Tomasino is 71 points in 159 NHL games (0.45 P/GP)

Career points per game much closer than you'd expect IMO. Same draft year and Tomasino is a bit younger.

Cozens obviously a lot more proven than Tomasino, has been a full time NHL and is the better player...but he's not worth that contract right now and has his own question marks with how the last 100+ games have went for him. I actually can't determine if Cozens is a much better player, or just player given much more opportunity.

I actually think anything more than a late 1st would be very surprising for Cozens based on his production and that contract.

Unprotected 1st rounds picks just don't happen, especially for a struggling team.

I truly wonder if Murray would let Conroy trade Andersson for futures and basically give up on the season?

I am much less in the Edwards runs everything camp given the Markstrom trade. Wolf is playing great but if there would have been no Markstrom trade if Edwards was dead set on competing.
