The new Lions GM has confirmed that VA will be traded and will consummate the trade "sooner than later"
“We’re going to start those conversations tonight. I’ll start reaching out to some teams,” Rigmaiden told reporters when asked when he expected a trade to take place.
“Again, I’m not a timeline guy. I want to make the best decision for the club and so I’m never going to throw out an arbitrary date to say we’d like to do this. But we’d like to do it sooner than later, out of respect to both him and the club, just so everybody knows what they’re doing. We’ll see what the market shakes out.”

The bolded is spot on, though.
“The biggest thing that I see is our lack of ability to overcome adversity on the field. There’s a lot of lack of mental toughness on this team and I think internally, we’ve all been discussing that for the last year,” said Rigmaiden when asked to diagnose the team’s current challenges. “There’s a variety of reasons why that stuff happens. Instilling a new head coach with some different ideas and different values, I think is going to be the biggest part of (changing) that.”
“I think your players take on the personality of your head coach. You look across the teams that are consistently good in this league, you see that.”

The Elks have also asked for permission to speak to BC Lions OC Jordan Maksymic for their vacant head coaching position. It doesn't appear that the Lions have granted the Elks permission as of yet though.
Mark Kilam's name has also been mentioned as a possible head coaching candidate for the Elks.

Why waste time, we all know it's going to be Hughs boy.
Now stop wasting time BC and give us VA. Also Maksymic would be a great hire here, maybe we can make him a DC.

None of that really surprises me as CSEC is all about the bottom line. I just don't see how the Stamps can compete with other organizations with the worst facilities in the league, dimestore food. The lack of strength and conditioning coaching combined with the poor turf certainly makes sense when you consider the amount of injuries every year. Hopefully the organization is making some changes in the offseason but it's pretty embarrassing how far things have fallen.

Rourke is a nobrainer at 1. Don’t care if he never plays a snap in the league you need to own his rights incase it doesn’t work out. He is a great player

A lot of that stuff makes sense sure. But it’s not like the Stamps woke in 2019 and said let’s be cheap. A lot of that sounds bitter about not being paid here.
Everyone wanted to be a Stampeder up until 2022. Out stadium didn’t suddenly become a piece of trash. It always was lol.
It’s easy to to kick us when we are down. That’s why our comeback is going to be extra special n

I think it's more that other organizations have upped their game to be competitive while the Stamps are carrying on like it's still 2008.

They have but let’s not kid ourselves. The Argos have been a laughing stock. Winnipeg was a joke.
The Stamps kept the league afloat. Our coaching tree runs the league. Toronto raided our roster and claim to be a dynasty.
A lot of things can get better for sure. But these articles make it seem like the Stamps are about to go bankrupt or something.

Are there no other rich, local, passionate football fans in this city that can buy the team and save them from CSEC? It’s quite sad how far the franchise has fallen off the field. Let’s call a spade a spade, CSEC doesn’t give two ####s about any of their teams other than the Flames. I wish we had an Amar Doman who owned the Stamps and actually had a passion for the team and cared about it.

Well thankfully Barnes looks good, yikes though. The pick seemed like a stretch from the way the analysts described him after it.

The Stamps haven't got good returns from the Canadian WR's they have picked high in the draft of late and a downturn in drafted talent has played a role in the demise of the team. I'm still perplexed by how underutilized Philpot was. Hard to imagine he's going to want to remain with the Stampeders.

I love how all of this has come out, it needed too. As per some of the prior posts, i also believe CSEC is the problem. It would be great for an owner like a Gutsche would emerge. I have said for years that come free agent time watching all of the teams good players move on has been unacceptable. This franchise has not evolved. I hear that Mcneil and the brain trust have come up with a real plan this offseason and i would like to think it wont be the same old. We will see.

Yeah, it's a much needed wake-up call and this off-season is very important. The Stamps have let far too many good players leave town and maybe they believed they could replace the guys that left with younger players or by finding some hidden gems, but that just hasn't happened. The best way to respond to this criticism they have received of late is via results on the field.

It's a QB driven league and we haven't had the QB.
Csec is a stable owner. Spend to the cap.
Sure, in the past we had Huff and others find gems. COVID shutdown that network and Huff is old now too.
Players and coaches are noamds in the CFL, and very money sensitive. Winning equals bonuses, and this is the first year in a long time Stamps didn't make the playoffs, again, QB struggles caught up to us.
The voices of said nomads who left are a little louder or given the stage to spout their displeasure, after the team they left doesn't make the playoffs.
