Wii Connosoires - your help would be appreciated
so, I promised my kids a Wii if they did well on their report cards.
if they did extremely well I might add in a few extras, with the Wii.
wouldnt you know, that both the lil buggers got honours!
so, since I know nothing about these things, besides the console with the one remote for almost 300 bucks. what else do I need for two kids to play this thing?

It does, but your kids will want to play doubles on some games so you'll need two sets.

The Wii console box comes with Wii Sports, one remote and one nunchuck.
Do not buy another remote, buy Wii Play. It comes with a remote and Wii Play is made up of 8 or 9 mini games (ping pong, duck hunt, a little tank game, etc). They're not much, but your kids will love the 9in1 idea. A remote is $45 and Wii Play is $60, so it makes sense.
At first, you only really need an extra nunchuck so two people can fight one another for the boxing game in Wii Sports. They're also hard to find, so not totally necessary, but nice to have I guess.
So:
Wii console box
Wii Play
Extra Nunchuk

I didn't have too much of a difficult time finding a nunchuck in stores. But if you do have a hard time finding Wii stuff the secret is to go to small towns. They always seems to have stock. My mother in law live in Taber and bought 3 Wii's at the Walmart for people living in Calgary!

Hey Bud ;
You for sure need to add the latest Zelda game to the list. It is a great game and a riot to play for all ages. They really got it right again -- just as good as Ocarina of Time.

If you feel like giving your kids ADD, pickup Wario Ware Smooth Moves! That said, it does make you move alot more then the standard video game...

A friend of mine was trying to find a Wii last weekend. He searched everywhere in the Red Deer - Edmonton corridor, and finally found one in Camrose... superstore or walmart.
I agree with Frequitude. Buy a Wii + Wii Play + 1 nunchuck. If your wallet is inclined to do so, buy Mario Party 8 (good simple game with potential for 4 players) and/or The Godfather (for yourself!).

For your kids, I would suggest all the party games. Rayman Raving Rabbids, Warioware Smooth Moves and Mario Party 8. These are great because you can play with them and totally keep up with them. (although that may require you to pick up a third Wii mote and Nunchuk so you can play with them heh). Wii is totally great for leveling the playing field between age groups.
And pssh it's great for grown-up parties too :P

You should get the component cables for the Wii if you're planning to hook it up to a big tv.
