At least Calgary may not be known anymore as the city where famous British actor/motorcyclists nearly get killed...repeatedly.

Ewan MacGregor is certainly Scottish, don't know about the other guy. He sounds English. Used "British" to cover both of them.

I believe it was Rebecca Sullivan. For any that know her, the "bimbo" comment is pretty much expected from her, lol.

"There are girls out there who have dreamed all their lives to grow up to become a bimbo and, hey, she made it" - University of Calgary pop culture expert Rebecca Sullivan, saying she was not surprised Cherie Cymbalisty had turned her encounter with Prince Harry into a money-making opportunity.

Somehow, I don't think Rebecca Sullivan is jealous of a waitress at Cowboys.

Quacks like a duck and walks like a duck...

Really, what did she expect? For a person who's stated ambition in life is to pose for Maxim and to be a Playboy Playmate, works as a bartender in an establishment of questionable repute ("a bar where the hooters sell the shooters"), and then sells her story about her encounter with Prince Charming to a second rate fishwrap for $$$, she's pretty naive to think she'd be painted as anything else. Enter the spin doctor...

It's no problem I am Scottish also. On one side of the family anyway, Grahams and Kinniburghs. Lived in Aberdeen when I was growing up. I will try in future, when writing about "an Englishman and a Scotsman", to use that exact phrase rather than British!

Oh hell no. She's just a bit of a firecracker feminist by reputation and loves ripping on "bimbos"

Wasn't Rebecca Sullivan the prof that cried foul when Honey Houston nuded-it-up a couple years back in the Gauntlet?

I find it odd that Cherie was complaining about the tabloid that printed the story, yet has no problems taking their money. Sounds a tad hypocritical to me.

If she's sincere maybe she should return the money she got or donate it to a charity.

You can damn well bet Chris Tahn is getting a fair chunk of Cherie's payoff, so of course he's going to play incredulous spin doctor.

And also, I'm sure Cherie was told what (and what not) to say to the media, so anything she says can be taken with a huge grain of salt.

Slightly off topic but on this same night a couple of my friends had a run in with some British soldiers who were a part of the Prince Harry group. They were having a cigarette outside of Watchman's on 17th when they noticed 2 of these gents getting tossed out for being too drunk and causing some problems.

The Brits started up a conversation with my friends, bragging about a fight they had got in earlier and showing off their bloody knuckles. They then started going on about how they should be given much more respect for the protection they give to us. One of my friends is a bit of a philosopher type and in his drunken state decides it a good idea to actually argue the finer points of just what protection they actually offer. You'd think he would know better, based on the bloody knuckles thing and the way the two guys had been acting, but nope!

My other friend recalls that during this time he could see on their faces that they were getting more agitated and were probably going to start a fight. The two guys then apparently looked at eachother, said "ready? ready! Go!" and started swinging. Keep in mind that my friends are each about 5'1" and 5"4' in height and the bouncers (who my friends know quite well as they frequent this bar quite a bit) were but feet away.

The one Brit swings at philosopher friend, hitting him and sending him to the ground. He really didn't see it coming.

Other friend, despite his small size, is a bit of a firecracker (played hockey, fought a lot, etc.), ducked the punch and started fighting with the guy, apparently right in the street. The bouncers jump in fairly quickly though, first taking care of the guy who hit my other friend and then secondly grabbing the gent who was fighting with my friend. The soldier guy starts screaming obscenities at the bouncer who then holds the guy while my friend continues to throw punches. According to my friends, after this the bouncers roughed the soldiers up a bit and sent them on their way.

It's kind of funny now though as whenever I go to Watchmen's with them, the bouncers always joke to my friends, "hey tough guys, you better not be starting any fights out here!" This is really hilarious considering how small my friends are, and the fact that they are both really nice guys.

Anyways, it takes a special kind of coward to jump the two smallest guys in a bar to prove how tough you are.

No, Calgary is actually the only city in the entire world without any Hot girls. It's a bit of a statistical anomaly.
You'd think that with a population of One Million, there would be at least one girl who even looks have decent, but it just hasn't worked out that way. Kinda tough for us guys living here too...what with the total lack of good looking women and all...
