There's only one party that tries to prevent people from voting.

When more people vote, Democrats win.

Really? MTG and Lauren Boebert are the personification of Everclear's Volvo Driving Soccer Mom.

You know I used to be a bad girl,
I got busy in the bathroom at my high school prom.
Yeah, I used to be a dancer at the local strip club,
But now I know my right wing from my wrong.

Yeah-yeah, I really used to be a bad girl,
I had a threesome with my sister and her boyfriend Tom.
I know I used to be a real wild child,
But now I am a Volvo-driving soccer mom.

Nana-nana, Volvo-driving soccer mom, nana-nana nana-nana.

I really used to be a bad girl,
I got busted for possession of my wizard-shaped bong.
I used to love to do the things they'd tell me not to do,
But now I'm different, now I sing a new song.

I really used to be a bad girl,
I got gang-banged in the bathroom at my high school prom.
Yes, I used to be a real wild child,
But now I am a Volvo-driving soccer mom.

Nana-nana nana-nana, Volvo-driving soccer mom,

Whoa, whoa, where do all the porn stars go when the lights go down?
I wonder where all the porn stars go,
Cause when you need one, they are never around.

I think they moved out to the suburbs,
And now they're blond, bland, middle-class Republican wives.
They've got blond, bland, middle-class Republican children,
And blond, bland, middle-class Republican lives.

Where do all the porn stars go when the lights go down?
I think I know where all the porn stars go?
They all become Volvo-driving soccer moms.

Oregon is a full voting by mail state. You can either mail your ballot in, or use one of the drop boxes throughout the state. (There are like 350+ of these).

Man the world will be a better place when these Joe Roganphere comedians piss away. Hinchcliffe will now crawl back to Rogan complaining about how the left can't take a joke and cry about cancel culture, meanwhile it was a stadium full of MAGA goofs who didn't like your crap comedy either. Who knew New York had a bunch of Puerto Ricans!

The garbage island joke could have been good if the punchline was Staten Island, being in New York, but he tried to play to his audience. The watermelon joke is just hack. Go back to Texas and cry on Rogan’s bosom.

I didn't watch the Nazi rally yesterday, but how did no one post this all-time cringe moment?

Domestically, power in the U.S. is far more dispersed than we like to imagine. At the federal level, power is distributed beteween the executive, the senate, and congress.
Trump has the courts in his pocket, which means he has all kinds of sweeping powers that he can take advantage of, knowing the courts won't stop him. He doesn't need congressional approval to crack down on his political opponents.

More importantly, state governments affects most people in their day-to-day lives far more than federal. Is Trump going to take over school boards and hospitals in California and New Jersey?
It might seem so at first glance, but I don't think it's that simple.

The federal government continuing trickle-down economics and giving massive tax cuts to the rich is affecting people's day-to-day lives because of the inflation it causes. Or, in some cases, the program cuts that are made to balance the budget.

Climate change may not be seen as a day-to-day life thing... until it plays a part in mega storms, mega droughts, mega floods, mega heat waves, etc. I think one of the biggest mistakes we as humans make is get preoccupied with day-to-day life while ignoring longer term problems like wealth inequality and climate change.

And, with an extreme right-wing government permanently in place, and truth-telling media shut down, what hope is there for a better future?

Then there’s business. Trump has some billionaires in his pocket. Many more are against him - Democrats continue to out-strip the Republicans in fundraising by a wide margin.
More billionaires may be backing Harris, but there's more money coming from billionaires to Trump PACs than Harris PACs.

Elon Musk, Miriam Adelson and Dick Uihlein have collectively donated a staggering $220 million to groups supporting the former president over the past three months.

And it's hard to put a price on X being turned into a pro-Trump propaganda spreading machine.

Today I learned that those drop boxes have a fire suppression system built into them. One of the boxes, it worked as designed, the other one was less good.

Ballots on fire should just count as a vote towards the democrats, for the sake of their country.
