Pfft. The Hurricanes. Those scrubs barely beat the Oilers. What will the Flames do to them? 38 - 0 , Sea Bass is out fornthe season, and Marty Nachos doesn't get on the bus after the game.

I really like how Huska is managing the goaltending. Allowing Wolf to ease in to the NHL.

Justin Kirkland is to Ryan Huska what Brett Ritchie was to Darryl Sutter / Geoff Ward.

Playing Kirkland with Huberdeau and Mantha gives off playing Ritchie with Gaudreau and Monahan vibes.

I am not terribly pleased that they moved Pospisil off centre already

Ugggh.. Atleast give Zary a look at center.

Kirkland and Rooney* as our bottom six centers is a nasty look.

Maybe he's just a placeholder for Sharky

This is going to be a super tight game. Or at least it should be with the goaltending both teams are getting. I'm predicting it goes to shoot out provided we play a responsible game with no yolo Kadri events.

Yeah, I too want to see Pospisil succeed there, but at the same time, moving to Kadri's wing with Kuzmenko isn't exactly a demotion. This team doesn't really have an official 1st line, but playing with Kadri and Kuzmenko definitely isn't a demotion and Pospisil had a great time last year playing with Naz. I suppose maybe they are doing this because Huska has seen too many mistakes by Pospisil down the middle. Or Huska is making this change because Conroy is about to bring in a center that Huska is marking down to play with Huberdeau and Mantha when they arrive later this week, so might as well reward Kirkland for a good game, give him a bump up, bring Rooney back in who Huska loves and get Pospisil ready with his new linemates going forward.

It's more an indictment of Kirklands play than anything else. Costco has earned a bit more of a look in a bigger role with Rooney back. Pospisil was also pretty bad last game. There needs to be accountability and it's good to see Huska committed to teaching these guys.

There's also nothing wrong with Zary getting the Backlund/Coleman treatment on the wing for a while longer either. It's a long season. I fully expect Coronato to slide next to those two if/when they are ready to give Zary another look at C.

I think it is more that Kirkland deserves to stay in the lineup and they want to get Rooney a game after his recovery.

I would have liked more patience with Pospisil at centre, especially since it’s not like the organization is flush with big young centres. As great a story Kirkland is; he does not fit in long term here.

Was Kirkland really that good tho? He scored in the shootout but I thought the fancy stats showed he struggled. I didn’t really notice him in a good or bad way in the last game.

Why is that? I think Kirkland could easily be a long term fit here. It isn't like he is old.

I'd much rather Kirkland in the lineup than Rooney too.
