Its actually kinda wild the Flames home opener was against the Flyers (a team that plays here one time) and the Jackets home opener is against the Panthers. So many Gaudreau connections.

Really nice video montage for Johnny prior to the game. Clips of him as a kid, the Brick tourney, Boston College, plenty of Calgary clips and him as a Flame, the Johnny and Monahan moment in the tunnel, his time as a Jacket, his family, his wife and his kids. Good stuff.

wow - that ceremony. i was doing ok until the clip of the johnny and mony hug in the tunnel.
oh wow... the game starts with no left winger for cbj. the clock runs down 13 seconds then stops

Just to be clear it wasn’t a jersey retirement it’s a banner honouring Johnny.
