Sorry to interrupt the alphabet game but more news from the world of McGM. Link below if you’re involved in some form of self BDSM.
https://edmontonjournal.com/sports/h...-on-pto-report
Edmonton Oilers set to invite Connor McDavid's old teammate to camp on PTO.
Travis Dermott. He was coached by (wait for it) Kris Knoblauch in Erie and was represented in the past by Jeff Jackson. That Erie connection is more than just Kris Knoblauch, of course. For the first two years of Dermott’s time there, he was a teammate of none other than Connor McDavid.
Put another way, this player has a past history with the Oilers’ President of Hockey Operations, their head coach, and their captain. That’s apt to open a door or two on the path to a fresh opportunity.
===
Dermott played 50 games for Arizona last year. 2G, 7pts, 26 PiM, -14.

Edmonton Oilers dark days are a distant memory for Connor McDavid

I made the mistake of reading a few tweets on X when drysaddle signed, now my feed gets lots of oiler tweets, they're as no good as those articles.
I keep searching for flames tweets to clean my feed.

So sounds like the Oilers PR machine is in full swing. Seravelli and Friedman already carrying water for those losers!! Both putting it out there that players are willing to waive their no trade clauses to go to Edmonton. Give it a season or two. With that aging roster and salary cap crunch, if they can't win it all this year it will be all downhill after that.

What difference does it make that players are willing to waive their NTCs to go there when they don't have any cap space to add someone with an NTC anyway?

When every single one of the media members picks them to win the Cup and they crash and burn in the 1st round it's going to be so so sweet.

Just noticed that on the no goods website the Penticton tournament is available on Oilers+. Are they really charging for that, when the rest of the teams are streaming for free?

And they have no assets to trade.
So the only thing available to them is minimum-salary free agents (i.e., guys that no teams want). But hey - those guys are dying to paly for the Oilers!

This is a big talking point amongst Oiler media and fans whenever a prospect/development system is brought up. Its not needed because players will be taking a deep discount to come play there on July 1. Strange thought process

They sure are taking those discounts and not, for example, signing offer sheets to get at or above market value.
