We can have three retention spots right? In this case it would be Marky, Huberdeau, Trouba? At least if it happens all this year/next. I have convinced myself there were only two spots now i'm not sure haha

I don't think Trouba entertains being traded to Calgary, and maybe not anywhere. He turned down a trade to Detroit already, which is his and his partner's home town essentially.
Plus she is in a very specialized career which benefits from her being in New York. It sounds like she couldn't stand being in Winnipeg for the most part, and while Calgary is a better city to live in, it would have some of the same challenges for her.

^ Yes. There are 3 retention slots. The Flames are currently using 1 for Markstrom.

Noice, thanks. Was it ever two? Or was that something I just convinced myself

I don't remember it ever being 2.
Maybe you confused it with the fact that a contract can only have a maximum of 2 teams retaining salary on it.

You haven't got a scrap of your argument left, so you're taking your ball and glove and going home. Noted.

He's likely more part of the solution being traded for some good draft picks.

I can see Coleman finishing his career in CGY. To me hes the next Conroy. And will likely be the next player turned office guy the Flames develop.

Honestly I would be very surprised if Coleman isn't a Dallas Star by the end of his contract/career.

Coleman is too classy to say otherwise publicly. Not that I am doubting him or questioning his sincerity, and I have no reason to doubt him. But I also think if he did want to move on, he'd like take a more professional approach and keep it on the down low.

Coleman to Dallas at the trade deadline.
Dallas beat Edmonton in the playoffs; Coleman remains the man.

I've given a full and accurate explanation of exactly why JFresh's ‘replacement level’ percentile is where it is. You could have tried to address that, or admitted you were mistaken, but instead you resort to this garbage.
I've noticed that when anybody brings up any kind of statistical information you don't like, you dismiss the statistics and attack the poster. So this is right on form for you, unfortunately.

100%.
For example, if Dallas for example came knocking on the door at the TDL I think they’d pay a good price for Coleman. And Coleman in Stars colors would be a great add for a run.

Coleman has his cups and is settled in Calgary. He might actually mean it. I wouldn't be shocked if he is traded but he doesn't have much to chase until this contract is done.

I think it would have to be the right fit.
If Dallas came knocking then I think he'd welcome it, or maybe like a Boston or something.
But I highly doubt he'd be wanting to move to a team like Buffalo or Detroit who are looking to contend but are still kind of floundering.
