We don’t have to worry about that anymore. Since we got raided we have no good players left lol.

The one thing that has me concerned is this team used to be stellar at recruiting and finding diamonds in the rough from their camps.
But this team seems talent poor and rather thin. The oline is terrible, Jake is just not a pro QB, I'd rather watch Tommy start and just run a freaking RPO offense at this point.
The secondary I was actually excited about at the start of the year, but they get burned time after time, our linebackers are decent but the front 4 just doesn't get up field.
Look I really like Dave, and when he had talent he was a good playcaller, but something has gone entirely haywire in terms of bringing in talent.
Lets be honest even though we're still in the race, we're getting worse and the other teams in the west are improving.
I guess we'll have to see if anyone interesting comes in from NFL cuts.
But even when I'm watching the games, I'm getting that Jake is limited in terms of the type of offence that they run, but when your forced to limit it that much, its time to make a change at QB.
Getting your face ground in the dirt at the labour day game when your having trouble filling the stadium and depend on the second half surge is concerning.

Becuase the Stamps turn them into good players.
There is a salary cap too, and most of not all teams are spending up to it. It's a matter of getting the most value out of your players to play to their cap value.

Two bad football clubs going at it there, doubted Edmonton would sweep and still don’t think so. Not that it matters for either club really. I hope they both get better again, for the sake of the rivalry and the league.

It’s simple. Huff. He was very involved in those camps and player recruitment.
Ted Hellard called him a dream hire.

Not just players our coaching staff has been raided as well.
It was bound to happen with the all star teams we put together. We just haven’t replaced them.
We haven’t replaced the coaches well either. It shows in our play calling and details.
3 receivers ran a route into each other. Another receiver decided he was going to run for a 1st down in the end zone instead of running a hard slant for the easy TD.
Little things. Missed coverages. The entire team can’t be all lazy and dumb. Some of this has to fall on the coaches as well.

I like Dickenson but this mess is on him. The Stamps simply aren't well coached nor is the roster very good. Stamps fans have been spoiled over the last 15 years but the reality is that the team was bad last season (6-12) and is bad again this season. The current state of the team has nothing to do with injuries or bad luck as it's now back to back losing seasons. It's just not a well run football team from top to bottom. Recruitment is not good enough, the coaching has not been good enough, and the roster simply isn't good enough.
Jake Maier isn't the only problem but he's the biggest problem on the roster as he's proving over the last two seasons that he can't get it done as a CFL starting QB. The teams fortunes certainly won't change overnight but the Stamps need to find a solution at the most important position in the game and right now a big problem I see is that Dickenson seems to have unwavering belief in a QB that simply isn't good enough.

Good post EE, I just wanted to highlight the bolded above as I don't know if it's unwavering belief in Jake or that the other QB's on the roster are not even close and that Jake is still the best option. If it is the latter, then that's on Dickenson the GM not doing a good enough job for Dickenson the coach.

Dave clearly has a lot of belief in Maier as he handed him the big contract and really hasn't shown any inclination to pull him from games. Maybe if Schiltz was healthy we would have seen Maier pulled earlier in some of these games but I really think that Dickenson likes Maier and thinks he can be the guy. It's kind of a weird situation IMO.

Isn't Maier playing out his contract this year ?
Hopefully they make a play for V.A.J. in the off season. Would seem to be the only decent QB available.
Sometimes you need to hit rock bottom before change is made.
A few streaks will be broken this year...
Started yesterday with the Labor day loss...Will continue when they miss the playoff imo...
Then...change......right ???

As "special advisor" can't he help to advise on how the team can get better at recruiting?

Do any special advisors ever do much? I thought it was just a title to keep him on the payroll.
Did you see him at the Wally retirement, he was nice and tan in his Hawaiian shirt.
Probably sipping a couple of Canadian 16's.

I streamed the game online and felt it was a typical Stamps game to lose, even with the momentum-changing kick-off runback in the second half.
I found the announcers referring to "MBT" ad nauseam really annoying.

Another disappointing thing was the backup had zero zip on his passes. His college stats looked awful as well.
A noodle arm heir to Maier.

Noodle arm and stationary. Even his deep shots are so inaccurate.
It's not 100% him, as at the pro level you can't have receivers run into each other like that. That was a TD.

They got a mulligan last year on making the playoffs - they won’t get in this year going 6-12 again. And where do they get those 2 wins from this year, let alone 4 to actually make it in at 8-10?
