I'm shocked that FOX news would carry Tim Waltz's speech

He did get a nice boost of support after his State of the Union address where he did show quite a bit of energy and sharpness.

The problem was, and likely still is, Biden's hubris. He didn't (and probably still doesn't) see the same thing everyone else sees...he got old, and the aging was rapid and noticeable in a bad way. He miscalculated, thinking he still had it in him to win the election by convincing people he wasn't old. Everyone could see it but him, which is why it took so much time and effort to convince him to step aside.

And thank god he did...

I say that as a pretty big fan of him.
I'd argue that many on this very forum didn't see what everyone else saw (this thread even keeps receipts!), but once the switch was made, suddenly and quite magically, these same people started to see it.

Or maybe you're taking what people said out of context.

Trisha Calvarese, Lauren Boebert’s Democratic opponent, has challenged Boebert to a debate at the Buell Theatre, site of the infamous Bettlejuice incident.

LOL, the jokes would write themselves. ”Lauren, you’re going down. But you’re used to that.”

“Lauren, I have to HAND it to you for showing up.”

This is some crazy ####. If you subscribe to the idea that God saved him to do his godly work on Earth, who sent the shooter? Wasn’t that also God’s handiwork?

Yes, and god chose to send a shooter who'd miss.

Georgia is leaning +2 Harris with a Fox News poll. Looks like Harris had a heck of a bump in popularity there.

This reminded me of my favourite Trump quote. A new indictment came down in response to the SCOTUS decision on immunity.

I'd argue that people saw this as a choice between two grandpas who neither were aging well and made their decision to support the nice grandpa over the bad grandpa. The nice grandpa is the one that would give you a hug, slip $20 in your pocket, and give you all the encouragement in the world. The bad grandpa is the one that would push you down while playing so he could win, steal money from your piggy bank, and tell you what a loser you were because you couldn't do something.

Frankly, both candidates displayed onset dementia and significant cognitive decline. You could see in their speeches as well as their physical activity. The loss of fine motor skills is an indicator people are overlooking. Biden was quickly losing his balance and it greatly affected his gait. Trump has been losing his for years and it showed in him having to use both hands to drink from a glass and really showed in his putting stroke (see his video in playing with DeChambeau). Neither should be anywhere near the ticket for their respective parties.

The choice was poor and people took the route of picking the nice grandpa who wasn't going to abuse in the basement when babysitting you. What is really ironic is the people who pointed at Biden's dementia are completely ignorant of the very same problem for Trump, which is arguably worse. The delusions he is suffering from are not only a danger to him, but a danger to the country.

It’s almost as if the swap from Biden to Harris proved that you could safely offer fair and important criticisms of a politician, regardless of whether they were the good guys or not, and not only would it not cost you the fate of the world but it might… you know… actually help.

Crazy.

Timing is everything though. The fallout from the debate offered a realistic opportunity to replace him. Up until the debate, Biden as sitting president and winner of the primaries held all the cards and there was no realistic path to remove him.

If you are going to have a mutiny against your leader, you better make sure you have a good chance of actually removing him, otherwise you're just giving the election away.

Uh oh, look out Tim. The Trump brain trust has worked out how to counter the "Donald Trump is weird" message. So much for that strategy.

Spoiler!

Yup, that should do it.

Was anyone even saying Biden was a good candidate though? The only real defence I remember of him was that he still better than Trump.

I have been wrong on Harris so far though, I thought she was going to tank and hand the election to the Trump. She has been riding the wave well.
