Its just...I understand.

They had a Penalty-Kill that went from absolute Dog Crap to Elite for not explicable reason. Then they shipped all of those PKers out.

Then they raided the NHL's 'Old Folk's Home' and the NHL's 'Island of misfit Toys.'

Then they played a couple teams without their best players, especially Goaltenders and got some insane performances out of nobodies.

And then went down 3-0 to a team that genuinely didn't take them seriously until they had no choice.

I'm serious, if the stars dont align just right for them? They're done. Window slammed shut in their faces.

But yeah, let their fans keep believing that they've got what it takes.

They had so many horseshoe shoved up their asses that Holland had to retire because we was crapping out steel.

It's going to be electric in October when he makes his debut at the home opener. Rogers hasn't been this loud since the finals, but Tim Emberson has this place buzzing.

Not sure where the 80 games comes from.
The CBA does not allow players with less than 3 years professional experience to be eligible for offer sheets:

	Quote:

		| (c) Players With Fewer Than Three Years of Professional Experience. Any Player with fewer than the required years of professional experience set forth
in Section 10.2 shall have no right to Free Agency except as provided in this section. Upon
expiration of such a Player's SPC, the Club to whom the Player was last under SPC shall be
entitled to make that Player a Qualifying Offer under the terms and conditions set forth in
Section 10.2(a)(ii) above. A Club which makes this Qualifying Offer will have the exclusive
right to negotiate with any such Player. In the event no such Qualifying Offer is made, the
Player shall immediately become an Unrestricted Free Agent pursuant to Section 10.2(a)(iv)
 above.
 |
Where a professional season is defined in section 10.2 by:

	Quote:

		| a Player aged 18 or 19 earns a year of professional experience by playing ten (10) or more NHL Games
in a given NHL Season, and a Player aged 20 or older (or who turns 20
between September 16 and December 31 of the year in which he signs his
first SPC) earns a year of professional experience by playing ten (10) or
more Professional Games under an SPC in a given League Year.
 |
and Professional Games is defined in the CBA as:

	Quote:

		| "Professional Games" includes the following: any NHL Games played, all minor league regular season and playoff games and any other professional games played, including but
not limited to, games played in any European league or any other league outside North America,
by a Player pursuant to his SPC.
 |
There is nothing in the section of the CBA that governs free agents and offer sheets that says a skater must have played 80 NHL games to qualify for an offer sheet

edit: There is a rule that an RFA may become a group 6 UFA if the skater has not played 80 NHL games by the time he is 25 (e.g. Matthew Phillips) which is what might be confusing the issue.

This is informative and all, but i'm going to continue to believe that oilers did this to themselves because they are no good

On BetMGM, the Oilers are currently +675 to miss the playoffs. I'm heading to Vegas on Thursday and will be happy to take a chance with those juicy odds.

I your work ethic involves googling..Byron Murphy has the 80 NHL games over 3 seasons on the criteria for being a RFA on a page he has, plus I've seen it on a couple other pages with the pick/dollar compensation.

I forget how it worked with Valimaki when his ELC expired. First year in NHL met criteria, missed entire second season but contract year still counted than played the third year. Was he RFA, but not offer sheet eligible? As far as the expansion draft went he counted as a player with only two pro seasons. Was it similar to a guy like Coronato burning year 1 of a ELC, but not being offersheet eligible when the contract expires.

I love how all these analysts are acting like they didn’t immediately Google or hockeydb this guy right after being acquired by the Oilers. You ask Seravilli his thoughts on Emberson 2 weeks ago and he’d be “who the hell is that?”

I expect that speccy and the rest of the grovellers and lackeys had 2 columns ready to go today…all touting the brilliant oilers.

There's never a good reason for wiping your prospect base (moreso when you have NO effin picks lol!)
But do your triple somersault routines you clown freaks.

Talk to you in a couple years when the team is dead in the water led by post apex UFAs with nothing on the horizon.

Oilers know how to bottom out to restock the team with number one draft picks. This is just them preparing for their next rebuild.
I’ll say that there’s one other team in hockey today that has selected more number one draft picks at the draft than the Oilers (And no one close since the start of the Cap years).

So I think they know a little bit about fully sucking and finishing last, if there’s ever a concern.

Just listened to this. What a load of rotting fish that was. The part about Emberson's 30 NHL games being more than Broberg's 101 was amazing though.

How is this assclown the President of the PWHA.

He embarrassed himself enough during covid throwing a tantrum and writing a letter demanding locker room access, even though they still had access just in a different set up.

My least favorite thing about Seravalli is when he talks about how much his wife hates him when. Jesus man in 1950 called and it wants its joke back. Quick complaining about your marriage on the radio.

They keep pointing out his agent has 2 clients only as well. If he was pressuring him, the agent would have 1 client.
