Exactly. This is the worst of both worlds name change. You piss off everyone who agreed with the name change from eskimos, but you also don't have the balls to fully follow through, so your weak, half measure attempt to go back to the racially insensitive name leaves your professional sports team with a ****in' nickname as it's actual team name.
Embarrassing, but very on brand for that city. At least it's not as bad as what the Oilers have done the last two seasons and specifically last month with their new gm.

I like the potential name change. I don’t mind Elks, but the name never should have changed. I can live with Esks.

I don't blame any incoming owner of wanting to change the name. Since changing to Elks the organization has dropped to all time lows on and off the field. They need a positive change as the Elks represent monumental failure. I still think Empire is better because they can keep the EE. Esks is better than Elks but maybe time for a fresh start.

What if the Cleveland Guardians decided to call themselves the Cleveland Injuns, would you like that?

Exactly. Considering how Edmonton is still treats their 80's glory like it was yesterday, it's very fitting.

They are saying Rourke may start. Have to wonder how effective he is after not playing for 20 months. Not only has not been playing, he hasn't even taken any reps this offseason.

The fact that you don't like it makes it a good move.

I would take my chances on a rusty Rourke over Jake Dolegala.

I think Chase Brice (Lions 3rd string QB) is a better option than Jake Dolegala.

Nah, I think Jake Maier is a more than capable CFL backup and if injuries happen he can fill in as your starter for a few games. Dolegala is a big guy with a strong arm, but that's basically it, nothing I have seen from him gives me any reason to think he will stick with any team for a significant period of time.
Edit: I mean, when he was with the Riders, Dolegala couldn't even beat out Mason Fine for the starting QB job and Fine isn't even in the CFL this year.

Nah. Maier is at least Kevin Glenn calibre. Dolegala has been in the league for three seasons and hasn't really flashed much. Anyone can sign him BTW as he was just released this morning.

To no surprise Dolegala has been released.

If this was the NFL we could sign him and tank our way to the #1 pick.

i have to believe that Jake Maier is on a very short leash and as Stamps fans, we should be rooting for Taylor Powell to put up some great numbers for Hamilton to make Bo Levi all that more available.

What is happening in Hamilton? Sorry I may have missed that.
