This makes me laugh so much. They have been putting their roster on paper talking about how great it is without players under contract and cap compliant. Lets see how the roster looks a week/month from now. Credit to Dino for bringing this up a while ago.

Looks like the dismantling of the cup final roster has begun! We may be just past the inflection point of peak Oilers. I am thinking its going to be hilarious from here on out.

Classic case of throwing the last guy under the bus to try and save face for the current regime. Jeff Jackson was on fire to start the offseason by adding 2 top 6 forwards at a decent price and re-signing some of the rentals they picked up and capped it off with the McLeod for Savoie trade. Since though he made the Bowman hire and have potentially lost 2 young players for below market value or match the offer and overpay these guys. A couple of solid L’s for old JJ after looking like he couldn’t miss

Who told Holland to sign them? Jackson was hired in August, he could have pushed for a signing at any time.

Is there a precedent for RFA's signing extensions mid-season? Especially ones not even playing in the NHL at the time? Holloway was injured in January, hadn't played since Nov and was recalled Jan 20. Broberg was in the AHL from Nov to April.

This is such a weird thing to make up and try to save face.
