it's baffling, given how Trump speaks of those immigrants. He regularly calls them all kinds of names, denigrates them, says they come from mental institutions and so on and so forth. And then some of those people hear that and go "ermagerd, those people could take my job!". Depressing.

I don’t want to tell anyone how to post but replying to that account is very obviously speaking to hear yourself talk. Each reply serves to do nothing more than amplify their message. This is clearly not someone conversing in good faith.

I realize we don’t pay by the post but it should be apparent that being outraged by their schtick and all subsequent replies are detrimental to any type of intelligent discussion.

You’re not fighting the good fight, you’re not combating misinformation. You’re feeding the troll in the oldest sense of the term. Fill your boots but it’s the equivalent of smashing your own crotch with a hammer and then complaining that your balls hurt.

The dude hasnt made one articulate post in this forum. He makes blatant false comments then ignores all the posts in response.

I agree with everything you're saying, but why even tolerate someone you're describing on this forum? Should just be banned.

Echoing Res a bit more, but can we at least try the ignoring approach this time? I realize that for certain posters (i.e. Mathgod and Lanny) it will be likely physically impossible to ignore, but let's try? The notion that it won't work or whatever is based of belief, because we've never actually seen it tried. Whereas we've seen that engaging unequivocally doesn't work, and it generally has the opposite effect by further amplifying them.

Both avenues have equally likely chance of making them cross the line.

I've decided to stop responding to the person clearly polluting this board, but it was persistent challenging that finally made Yoho flip their lid and get banned.

FIU should probably have been gone a while ago due to the constant barrage of misinformation, especially during COVID, but their working towards that endgame on their own.

Fair enough. I removed the quote from my post and put them on ignore to stop being part of the problem.
