If we didn't have Kuzmenko then I'd have no issue with Laine, but to me they kind of fill the same role on this team

Not IMO….
Kuzmenko cares and Laine doesn’t.

Sounds like Laine should get traded to Edmonton, where Emperor Daryl and Darth Bowman will ‘find new ways to motivate him’.

The role is "goal scoring winger", not "guy who cares" lol

Which one is more likely to get consistent results, the goal-scoring winger who cares about getting results or the one who doesn't?

Jackets are willing to eat salary to sweeten the deal, but what version of Laine are you getting? He hasn't performed up to his ability the last few seasons and teams know this.
MTL is pretty high on Laine, seems to be substantial smoke around a deal with CBJ looking for futures now more so than roster players. B prospect + 2nd round pick is what teams seem to be comfortable giving up, but CBJ continue to want as much as possible. Some teams still think a deal around what Kuznetsov got is more realistic (3rd + retention by the team) so we'll see.
I've been told Calgary has no interest so some of you can breathe a sigh of relief

Just saw a YouTube video posted yesterday ago that Okhotiuk was traded to the Rangers. I have no idea on the credibility.

Nothing in Russian media regarding Okhotiuk. It has been quiet since he signed in CSKA.

Kuzy is a more skilled player than Laine ever will be. Laine has a better release and that's it.

I highly doubt it’s Murray Edward’s mandate to trade Markstrom and Mangiapane but to keep Andersson and Kadri. The team has a lot of cap space left, so either use it to be the best team you can be and try to make the playoffs or trade the rest of the core and go full rebuild. A retool without any real tools to build a franchise core with is just going to predictably result in more first round losses or early exits again and again.

They will be a bottom 5 team for sure next year. Kadri can control where he goes and there’s zero rush to trade Andersson. They traded their starting goalie and signed no impactful UFAs.
