Especially cause he's only hosting his own shows/podcasts and is easy to avoid if he's not your thing.

You can say you don't prefer a talking head like Marek or Loubardias without resorting to some of the name calling that's happening in this thread.

No hate, but didn't care for him and indeed, did not listen to his podcasts. It is no great loss in my books.

I didn't say he was a bad person. From all accounts he is an awesome guy. I just didn't like his broadcasting style. Personally.

Always interesting to read the opinions, this time around distaste for Marek.

I actually think Marek is good, truly interested in hockey, and an engaging conversationalist. For me, he's much more interesting than Friedman and the moralizing / life lesson stuff he babbles about as if none of us are older than 5.

Marek has always irritated me, mostly because he always seems irritated at everything he has to discuss. Like he’s bothered the rest of the plebs don’t already know all this ####.

I heard a podcast ad read of his for Air BnB on one of the Flames talk episodes, and it actively discouraged me from utilizing that service.

Hopefully whoever they get can at least pretend to enjoy their primo job.

Marek really had some odd interviews at the draft. For a guy that does long thought out material usually, Sportsnet throwing him on, occasionally, to ask a one and done draft question to a player, seemed weird and the ones I saw he seemed complete annoyed at having to do such a flyby...as opposed to doing the desk analysis as he had done before.

It's been clear for a few years that Amber is being groomed to take over McLean's role, and Amber has turned into the having some of the same rambling, scatterbrained attempted story telling and cringey/over the top comments that Ron revels in.
