What are the odds it doesn't have Scotiabank or Rogers in the name as a corporate sponsor?

Apparently, the city briefly updated their project website this afternoon with references to "Scotia Place" and "Scotia Centre", but have since removed that.

If that ends up being the name, it's odd that it's "Scotia" rather than "Scotiabank".

Just give the building an actual name. Then I don't care who the sponsor is because it'll still be unique.
Even just Scotia Dome is better than some generic crap like Arena, Place or Centre

Will never happen, the lost in sponsorship naming revenue would be too big.

I know, but a man can dream.
Was my favorite part of the Saddledome. Whatever the sponsor, it was still the Saddledome

Unless you're the company spending millions of dollars to put your name on the building.
"Where's the concert tonight?" -- "The Dome." -- "Okay."
...or...
"Where's the concert tonight?" -- "The Place." -- "What's 'The Place'?" -- "You know, the Scotiabank Place."

I read previously that the new footprint covers something like 40% more ground than the previous, so I'm expecting a different design which now includes the community rink

Wonder how they will pull off construction and keep that area functional. Parking will sure be interesting for a few seasons.

When the excavation permit applications were posted a few months ago, I took the drawings and superimposed them on the area to get a rough idea of how the building will fit on the site.
The green line represents the boundary of the property and the yellow is the above-ground footprint of the building. I also superimposed the arenas in Detroit and Edmonton (both designed by HOK) to see how they would fit the same site...

The extension of 17th Avenue into the grounds (and then eventually connecting around the BMO Centre and up northwards to Olympic Way) should be open on the south side as soon as the LRT station is done, so there likely will be main access to the Dome in the meantime from that direction (for taxis/Ubers, drop-offs, parking, etc.).
