For those who think everything is done by the President (and doesn't actually know it's his administration that runs most of the show), you can expect four more years of presidential logic like this if the other guy is too old:
Quote:
“I say, ‘What would happen if the boat sank from its weight, and you’re in the boat, and you have this tremendously powerful battery, and the battery’s now underwater, and there’s a shark that’s approximately 10 yards over there?’
“By the way, a lot of shark attacks lately, do you notice that? Lot of sharks. I watched some guys justifying it today: ‘Well they weren’t really that angry, they bit off the young lady’s leg because of the fact that they were not hungry but they misunderstood who she was.’ These people are crazy. He said, ‘There’s no problem with sharks, they just didn’t really understand a young woman swimming.’ No, really got decimated, and other people, too, a lot of shark attacks.
“So I said, ‘There’s a shark 10 yards away from the boat, 10 yards, or here. Do I get electrocuted if the boat is sinking, water goes over the battery, the boat is sinking? Do I stay on top of the boat and get electrocuted, or do I jump over by the shark and not get electrocuted?’ Because I will tell you, he didn’t know the answer.
“He said, ‘You know, nobody’s ever asked me that question.’ I said, ‘I think it’s a good question. I think there’s a lot of electric current coming through that water.’ But you know what I’d do if there was a shark or you get electrocuted? I’ll take electrocution every single time. I’m not getting near the shark. So we’re going to end that, we’re going to end it for boats, we’re going to end it for trucks.”

Its not like Jimmy Carter has had sniper teams covering him as he built houses the last 40 years.

He wasn't even the candidate yet.
He certainly wasn't getting the A-Team (or even the B Team), but rather ECHL level SS agents. Now I suspect most SS agents are pretty good...but are we sure they are the best of the best of the best? Gotta be a lot of ex-military who can't figure out what else to do domestically? It really doesn't seem like a very appealing job to me compared to most other LEO jobs where you have a bit of freedom and get to actually use your brain.
Staffing Trump's team must be an interesting process. When the job literally involves turning yourself into a human bullet vest, you probably want an agent who is supportive - or at least not opposed - to their assignment. Which may or may not say something about overall intelligence (or maybe they are just more noble than me)

Are you admitting to be one of the 'teleprompter glass' folks? C'mon now, this staged assassination conspiracy is absolutely dumber than 9/11 conspiracies.

Like...literally the only reason the assassination attempt failed is that Trump had that stupid massive illegal immigration billboard setup he was referring to and looked to right as the shot happened. It was absolutely that close and the shot was accurate.

Was it a huge coincidence or was it planned and timed.
Perhaps there wasn't even a bullet

I've repeatedly seen it stated recently that the USSS is the pinnacle of "alphabet agencies", a place that appeals to - and only accepts - the "best and brightest".

Exactly what I've been wondering as well. He was a terrible president. Bring him back .........to do what exactly? Terrible president, convicted felon, twice impeached. What is he going to do that's so wonderful that you need to ignore his past and put your country's democracy on the line for? It's insane. I guess there's a lot of people that just want to see the world burn.

No, a lot of people want to see countries revert back to religious dominated politics and laws with some mixing in a dash of white supremacy

I think a lot of people already think that the world is burning, and the only way to to put the fire out is to throw gas on it.

They don't even need to hide how they want to throw gas on the fire and how absolutely backwards their thinking is. They just do it.
Quote:
The Drive American Act seeks to gut the Biden administration’s electric vehicle tax rebate program, with the first half of the bill undoing the program altogether. In the latter half of the bill, Vance proposes that American taxpayers follow him into a ridiculously circular logic that would instead place up to a $7,500 rebate on all new gasoline- and diesel-powered cars, trucks, and SUVs. Vehicles with larger payloads and more seats would be eligible for more of the incentive. In order to take advantage of this, you’d need to live in a household making less than $300,000, and the vehicle could not exceed $80,00o. Both “limits” are well north of average.

People are stupid. This is what they remember:
When Trump was president gasoline was $1.85 and their mortgage cost them 2% interest. It doesn't matter that Trump had nothing to do with this. Now in only 4 years under Biden gas is $4 and rates are 8% - now imagine how bad it will be in another 4 years.

I'm old enough to remember when Musk said months ago he wouldn't donate money to either Trump or Biden. He's kissed the ring as well, should be wearing the red hat any day now.
